Has anyone tried fitting a door to the P1P (with the genuine mounting kit) ?
The mounting points seem to look the similar, (cant confirm till the mounts arrive) however to get to the upper mount holes , I would need to to remove the front upper panel where the display sits…
Any advice on how to remove that upper panel would be greatly appreciated.
You mean the front cover where the screen is attached to? There is a wiki article:
Ah thanks.
I believe the X1 front door is 20mm shorter than the P1P opening, but there may be some way to mount one in any case. It’s really intended as a dust cover and aesthetics, not heat retention related, as I plan to stick with PLA.

Maybe you want to have a look at
https://www.printables.com/de/model/363079-bambu-lab-p1p-vision-enclosure
which is a third-party solution that uses custom PC panels?
Thanks.
I’ve already ordered the door and mount kit as it is relatively economical.
I’ll be looking at ways to mount it, even with the 20mm gap (I might possibly be able to print something to cover the gap and offset and mount the upper hinge)
We shall see.
Any update ? i am really interested in the results.
I’ve seen a few people report success with this on Facebook this picture is from a guy who is modifying an enclosure to fit. Not sure if it’s on printables yet but that was his intention
Yeah, the kit will bolt directly on but will leave a gap at the top of the panel. I printed an extender and mounted it to the front plastic panel. It’s not super clean, but not terrible either. Just remember, now Bambu is saying they didn’t add any additional fans to the P1P to keep costs down and enclosing them may cause the electronics to overheat. So, they are suggesting you add the fans if you enclosed it. Lots of stuff to add with that. So be warned, you’ll need to add the fans (mainboard and chamber), print the chamber fan mount, and print a rear panel or drill the stock one out.
The top glass is a little bit of a project as you’ll need to modify the rear enclosure panel to fit the glass top. The X1 front plastic panel is a little shorter than the P1p’s, so you’ll need to model in a few mm’s of clearance in the rear of the model as well as trim to top of the panel where they glass sits (so it sits flush).
