I have four AMS units, I can use any 3 out of the 4 without an issue - adding the 4th no matter which one is the 4th or what combination of cables - as I have spares will to the 4th running, if I remove the 3rd and make the 4th #3 it works.
The software can see all the AMS units, all the lights on the AMS’s are white but with all four units on - again no matter the order selecting any filament on the fourth unit results in the filament on unit 3 in the same spot being loaded.
Also BBL didn’t ship me any screws with my 4 Port hub - what Size are the screws please, I saw them being mentioned as M3 x 28 - which is completely wrong.
They aren’t ive tried them - they are not long enough - right size for the hole - not enough length even the screws I ordered seem to short after reading what they should be on a website - never mind the fact they are to fat
Well they don’t fit on the X1 Carbon for some reason the screw doesn’t even reach the end of the hole so there is no material to put in the hole on the back of the machine. I just checked again, the 4 way buffer is at least 3mm thicker than the one to one buffer
Even taking into account the recess for the screw head it wont reach the end of the hole by a country mile.
The AMS 4-port buffer normally comes with new screws. They are longer than the ones on the single port buffer you are replacing in the process (on an X1C, that is). I’d contact BBL to ship the (missing) right screws to you. I can measure them when back home in a couple of hours …
For reference I have managed to get all four units working albeit in a very Janky way…
Printer->AMS1->AMS2->AMS4->AMS3 - Why I literally could not tell you. But I can access all four units but in order top to bottom they go A,B,D,C which makes zero sense… Can any one explain this for me?
Now all I need is some correct screws, once I know what they are I will buy them myself it will be quicker.
The cable order does not matter, it’s the order you originally plugged them in. You need to do a reset AMS, wait till the lights change (blinking red I think), unplug them all (including from each other), then plug them in one-by-one in the order you want them to appear.
