X1C printing too high in spots

I’ve been printing a single sheet of PLA on my X1C to test for first layer issues. I’ve noticed that in some spots even when using bed leveling before a print, there are large spots it prints far too high.

I just add a cube to the slicer and make it take up the entire build surface and then set the Z height to match the printer settings, 0.2. This creates a giant single layer sheet.

For this test I used Bambu PLA Cyan

The places that it prints too high aren’t connected and looks more like bridging than anything.

Check the build plate temperature is same all around the plate

I don’t have any easy way to temp check the bed. I might need to buy something.

Is it an issue with other build surfaces? Try running the same print on a different build surface and see if the issues persist.

When I encounter something like that, it usually depends on the bed temperature — either it’s too low or the build plate hasn’t fully heat-soaked.

These are my findings for my Carbon Fiber Plate after printing a large single-layer square.

I also noticed some spots that didn’t turn out well, so I added a 10-minute delay after the plate reaches its target temperature before the printer starts.
