I was excited for this feature until I realized that you can not enable drying from the handy app yet.
It is a step in the right direction, maybe just premature.
I’m assuming that this is just that the P2S needs to be added in a Handy update as it is already there for the H series. I do not have a P2S to verify.

Added support for “Print While Drying” feature.
How can that be a feature in the new update, when it doesn’t even work, as I cannot get it to print and dry at the same time? Maybe someone can explain how it’s meant to work as it does not work as expected.
While drying and trying to run a print it will give an inline message that it’ll lower the temp. but that’s it, and continues to give that alert message stating to stop drying.
And let’s not mention the temp. limit for PETG not working correctly either. The validation for PETG in the app is 60º and won’t allow anything over that, even thou the default for PETG is 65º - that is just poor testing by BambuLabs.
Also BambuLabs, fix that annoying alert modal when giving the drying warning, it cannot be CLICKED away from, nor are we able to click “stop drying“ on MacOS.
After a couple of software updates, filament drying and printing is working. I have a P2S and 2 AMS 2 pros and 1 AMS HT, and can be started and stopped from my computer and phone. I have separate power supplies for each AMS. All good.

For H2 Series Printer&P2S Printer：
1. Connecting a Single AMS 2 Pro:
- A single AMS 2 Pro can be powered and dried by the printer directly, no additional Switching Adapter is required.
2. Connecting multiple AMS 2 Pro units together:
- If the drying function is enabled for multiple units, each AMS 2 Pro requires its own Switching Adapter.
- Even if only one unit is drying, the system power may automatically reduce, leading to insufficient drying. It is recommended to use a power adapter to ensure optimal drying performance.
i had hopes i could dry and print on my p2s with single AMS 2 pro without a seperate psu. But it not working still. And all FW is up to date.
You are always going to need a seperate power adapter. The PSU on the P2 simply doesn’t have enough power output. Firmware isn’t going to change anything.
Is there going to be an update for the A1 series to allow drying while printing? I dont get why it needs to be switched off for printing? Running ams2 pro. Thanks

OK, please explain. I have a P2S and AMS2Pro with most current firmware and a Bambu external power supply connected to the AMS2Pro and still can not print while drying. If I start drying then start print, it pops up the error message. Do I need to start print first, then turn on drying. That seems odd, especially if printing batches of small parts. Each batch may only take a small portion of the total dry time.

OK, it was the popup that states you can not dry while printing. However… after digging a bit deeper it seems that you don’t get FW updates in LAN Only mode. After switching LAN only off and rebinding and logging in I immediately got the update for 01.02.00.00. As a previous (and current) Prusa user, this lack of update notification for simply keeping my printer within my local network seems like overkill. You can’t tell me that the software could not check for updates and still maintain a closed access for all other inbound traffic.
Don’t get me wrong, I do like this new printer but sometime the ecosystem design philosophy goes way beyond common sense. Is Bambu hiring the lowest performing engineers just to save money??? Makes me wonder.
I get it, it is something to get used to.
Personally, on any of the brands I own, I pay attention to the release notes and update only when there is a fix for a problem that has been bothering me or a new feature.
Bambu’s goal is to keep you in their cloud. Don’t expect them to make LAN-only easy or convenient.
Thanks, but no. I’d prefer to stay in my own cloud, where I manage all traffic inbound and outbound. In addition, having the P2S integrated into Home Assistant is MUCH more useful for me. I’ll do the switch-a-roo every time I need to get new firmware. In this case, this lack-o-feature caught me by suprise.
What does LAN only mean, all this time I thought it was Local Area network “Only” I thought LAN only wasn’t connected to the internet?
So I’m confused - is the AMS2 drying while printing feature working - or not? I just hooked up the AMS2 I bought to my X1 Carbon - updated the FW on the X1 to 01.11.02.00 - and tried a test print - and the drying feature says it’s disabled while printing.
Is the dry while printing feature only working on some models - like the H2 - and not on others?
I went back and forth trying to decide on whether I should just buy another AMS1 - and add the Eibos dryer to it (that’s what I did with the AMS1 that came with the X1 when I bought it) - or go with the AMS2. I went with the AMS2 - because all the stuff I read say the drying while printing feature was working - and that made the AMS2 a better deal $$ wise.
Now it’s looking like I should have gone with the AMS1 and the Eibos
So the print stops - and I try to start up the drying - I have three spools loaded into the AMS2 - and before doing the drying - it says I have to remove the spools because the drying temperature will soften the filaments. So I can’t dry while printing - and I apparently can’t even enable the drying - with spools loaded into the AMS. Wondering what the point of this drying feature is?
So i understand that A1 and AMS 2PRO can’t print while drying.
Why don’t they just adjust to the lowest temp filament and go print, easy solution
Well i guess i stay with my sunlu S4 +A1 until they work it out, works like a charm, prints and dries without issue.
