"You have requested to redeem Gift Card" change?

Today I went to redeem a gift card and was greeted by a new message.

My points were deducted but the gift card is not issued yet. Instead, it says this:
“You have requested to redeem Gift Card for $40.” in the transaction history, and on the incomes tab I see this:

Now I have nothing to hide and no sketchy activity so I’m not concerned, but I’m wondering if this is now the new process for all gift card redemptions going forward? Was there any sort of communication about this change?

Funny thing is I just noticed that I received the gift card code by email immediately even though it still says under review in maker world :joy:

I was chatting with a friend who mentioned he experienced this.

He wasn’t provided any additional information and I haven’t seen anything publicising a change in the process.

It is unclear it is account based (something needs verification), territory based (only occurs in some countries) or a new policy working its way through.

Last week I redeemed 16 card in a single week despite the hard limit of 6998 points redeemable each week (I always push it) which should only have allowed 13 cards in the U.K. store. That wasn’t publicised either.

I suspect the limit still applies to regular points but excludes exclusive points.

Just had the same happen to me yesterday… in transaction history it is marked as “under review”, but I immediately received the code by email… :stuck_out_tongue:

Just got that as well. Redeemed 3-4 gift cards, and then I got one. I used 33 exclusive points to redeem it, is that why? Anyone else redeem theirs with exclusive points?

Yeah mine was redeemed with a mix of regular and exclusive

I redeemed many this week, getting in before the window ended, all either a mix or solely from exclusive points, I have yet to experience this.

The redeem window began again at midnight for the next week, I will see what happens this week.

I’m currently on my third review within 48 hours. For me, it seems to happen with about every 10th gift card, especially those involving exclusive points. It’s somewhat comforting to know that this happens to others as well—I was starting to worry if I had done something to get flagged by their system.

I’ve had my account reviewed before but this is new (I got the gift card emailed immediately too, which is a bit confusing)

Same here. Still says ‘Under Review’. I’m close to being able to redeem another one and now I wonder if it’ll be the same “No you can’t do that, but here’s your gift card code anyway” :grin:

Ah by the way, besides the pop-up message while redeeming, it does not look like I have any system messages or other info on this. Seems different from the usual, periodic point-review.

Just today mine finally shows as approved so it did take a few days

I just tried to redeem points to get gift cards back to back. The first one went through, the second says it is under review and they’ll look at it in the next five days. I’ll let everyone know what happens.

I have been caught up three times in a row, with back to back 5 day prison sentences each time.

  • Put in prison
  • 5 days later parole
  • Less than 60 minutes later I committed the crime of attempting to redeem another
  • Put back in prison
  • 5 days later parole
  • Less than 6 hours later I committed the crime of attempting to redeem another
  • Put back in prison
  • Still locked up, hoping for parole in a couple of days.

Does anyone wish to guess how long it will take before I am thrown back in prison again after my pending parole?

This is a joke, what possible actions did I commit in the 60 minute and 6 hour respective windows?

Have you tried opening a support ticket about it? As you know, responses on here from an official account are few and far between.

Also is there still the bug where it actually does email you the code even though the request says it’s under review? Or did they fix that.

Not yet, but, if it happens again, I will do.

It is more about my lack of faith in tickets with suitable and relevant responses.

I haven’t experienced that.

Two days ago I was let out of prison, I thought forever at least for a while before I was yet again unjustly accused of a crime I didn’t commit.

Yet, it seems that happens after two days this time as I was thrown back into the points jail for the crime of redeeming a gift card.

12 days ago I got out, to be thrown back in after 60 minutes. Then after 5 days I was thrown back in for another 5 days, after just 6 hours, upon release again, I get two days of freedom before I am thrown back yet again.

This new system is annoying and capricious and treats the innocent as guilty and with disregard.

I got brave and redeemed my 2nd ever $40 gift card a few minutes ago, after the first was a 10 day wait. This one went right through!

Then I clicked to do another one…review purgatory. Sigh.

Just redeem all you have, once it’s reviewed they all get approved at once
