I sent my request a day or two ago I’m gonna return my A1 and buy the p1s. Im a high school student in a engineering class so I hope I can get to printing again soon.
Just received my refund and discount code this morning. Took 10 days since it landed at BL UK Warehouse.
Hope they can continue/improve the lead times for the rest of you.
Update to my previous post: today (Feb 22) I received both the refund and the discount code. I have immediately ordered the P1S combo.
take a chill pill. do you think a worldwide logistics chain happen overnight? BL may have set up distribution networks, but scaling up their returns system to track this large of a volume of machines coming back into their system and ensuring every customer get their refunds and discount code is not trivial. BL isn’t an automotive company that has been in operation sometimes for more than a century. I’m honestly surprised how FAST they have been able to respond to this issue. especially given it happened right before the China Spring Holiday which lasts for more than a week where EVERYONE in China goes on holiday (including their external suppliers/vendors/distributors/delivery chain)
Mate, no logistics are required to bang a refund into a bank account… No logistics are required to at least get the return mailing labels sent in an email. Lastly, when you have sold a defective product that has the potential to kill people, you don’t take a holiday.
@rusty: but you really have no idea why functioning logistics are needed.
Or do you go to a meadow and eat grass?
Or do you not need logistics for groceries in the supermarket or spare parts for, for example, cars that have to be sent back and forth if one doesn’t fit?
Or do you take the wrong part and then drive others to death?
Hmm…well if you don’t need logistics for everything, we’ll all soon bite the dust.
You are confusing logistics with process and administration. Logistics, in the generally accepted meaning of the word, is all about moving and storing resources and products. Responding to support tickets, organising return postage labels and implementing refunds are administrative processes. I’m calling it for what it is. This is the part of the recall that takes the least amount of cost and effort and yet nothing is happening here in Australia. Nothing.
That was exactly my point. It doesn‘t need much to send a return label to the customer. It doesn‘t need much to communicate better to the affected customers. Especially regarding the voucher were too many questions still open.
Shutting almost the whole company down for two weeks holiday after such a disaster is irresponsible. But they were still able to sell things and make money in that time.
I have no sympathy for people who always believe that they come first and absolutely want to get their way before others. It’s just disrespectful. Because many others are waiting just like you. Or are you the only one in the world?
I would take this to heart if it were written by someone else who hasn’t heard anything from Bambu Labs. But you have, and you’re in Europe, where things seem to be happening. As I have explained, all I ever wanted was to be kept up-to-date. I have lodged a refund request with Paypal. You can think whatever you like.
Today I hope that I will receive the refund notification and the discount code, as the 3-7 days after the shipment has been received by BBL.
Edit:
Refund notification just received. (13:06)
This is all too bad. The A1 was the best printer I have ever owned!
It’ll be back! I plan on grabbing one as soon as it’s back in stock and confirmed to be fixed. This is based on my experience with my A1 Mini. It’s been great.
I’m also impressed with how BBL is handling things. I can’t think of many other companies that would act similarly in the instance of a recall.
I was really excited when i got my A1 about three weeks before they were recalled. It ran great and was my first printer. After choosing the refund option my plan was to get the refund and just order the P1S instead. Registered my choice and now it’s been a month with no further response from Bambu Labs. I’m no longer impressed or optimistic about my choice to purchase one of their products. Researching other options now.IF, and that’s a very big IF, i ever hear back from them.
Hello everyone, I’m starting to lose patience. It’s been more than two weeks since the printer was collected at the depot in Germany and I still have no news.
- Return ticket created February 6
- Return label received February 13
- Package sent on February 14
- The Belgian Post and DHL confirm the delivery of the parcel in Germany on
February 16
I sent a new message in the ticket created on February 29 but I still have no response from Bambulab. Which one is in the same case as me and could reassure me?
This might be worth reading.
This is exactly what I’m looking for.
Thank you very much
I was just going to reply that all of this happened during the Chinese new year but seen Barryg41 had posted the blog post. The recall happened at the worst time it could have for bambu. And if you think about it it doesn’t matter what country you live in you probably have some major holiday that slows work down. While I understand its frustrating they will get there but there is likely a huge backlog of support tickets and returns to process. And as another poster mentioned, in the realm of printer issues this one seems to have been handled pretty quickly. And the resolution seems pretty generous as well.
I think in a year from now this will all be a distant memory for most, though im sure the anti bambu crowd will clutch onto this forever. Its pretty minor although a mistake that shouldnt have happened. Luckily the printers that did fail didnt cause loss of life and major property damage so we can be thankful for that, and bambu reacted pretty rapidly, issuing a full recall about a week after the first issue was known publically.
Has anyone who lives in Switzerland like me already received a parcel label?
I already created my ticket on 7.2.2024, but have not yet received a parcel label.
This is now already a month, and it will take much longer until the refund and the voucher are issued.
At least a status message from Bambu Lab would have been desirable.
I was planning to buy the P1S Combo as a replacement. But my confidence in Bambu Lab is steadily declining.
Hi,
Did you read this already ?
