AMS C The current sensor of heater 1 is abnormal

Good afternoon,

I’ve got a 4 AMS 2 Pro setup with my H1C but suddenly one of the AMS started to show this strange error. I’ve searched all the BambuLabs knowledge base for the error code o no avail. The outcome is that the AMS starts the fans as if it were drying but it doesn’t heat up, and the above error is shown in the screen and the APP.

The code is [0702-8000-0001-0001 191222]

Anyone has experienced same error???

I’ve tried the usual ‘fixes’, power cycling the AMS and power cycling everything with no change. The error appears as soon as I start drying that AMS and dissapears when I stop drying.

As we say in Spain, an image worths 1000 words…

My guess is that the heater ist just defective and the HMS noticed. Open a support ticket.

Yep, I think the problem must be related with that. It’s a shame as the other 3 units are working like a charm, and this one did too for a couple months but failed…
Ticket opened and awaiting answer.

Thanks

Hi, I also got the same problem. Mine is on heater 2.

I’ve been told to disassemble and swap the heaters’ cables to see where the problem is.

I’ve found another thread here where measuring the internal resistance of the heater was enough to detect the fault, that’s what I will try as I believe, but the photos I’ve seen, that swapping the cables is not an option as they aren’t long enough.

I fixed mine yesterday. It was just the heating element that was crack, looks like it’s made of ceramic.

Hello I responded in the other thread to you. I have the same exact problem. No heat, same error on an ams 2 only 35 days old. Support sent me a new heater which was easy to install but made no difference. I’m still getting the error. I tried connecting the ams 2 to different printers with the same results. Reported findings to support with photos of install and they haven’t responded yet. It’s been 6 days. Every time I send a message to support I have to wait at least 3 days its doesn’t matter if I spent $3,000 on an H2D and AMS 2 it takes days for a response.

So the AMS 2 has 2 heating units. You can buy them both for $35

I’m tempted to spend $35 to try to fix it. But I should be getting these parts free.

Which heater was it? Can you look at my response above and point out if it was the one on the left in my photo with all the writing on the back or if it was the other one on the right?

I FOUND THE PROBLEM! They sent me the wrong heater it’s the other one that is broken. I figured it out by connecting the one they sent to the other side (which doesn’t fit it) and plugged everything in and the ams 2 heater works! Of course I cannot use it this way. I was considering splicing the one into the right side but I better just wait for support to answer I sent them this info and requested the other heater.

Wow, you troubleshoot it really well!!! I saw your first message a couple hours ago and couldn’t answer yet as I’m at work, I’m now in a pause and I see that you found the cause… It looks like a silly mistake from tech support or the guys sending you the replacement, mistaking heaters… Well, 35$ to have some spares seems a decent price to me, but you’re right, should be sent for free. Luckily I have the other units to dry filaments if I need to.

I’ve found out that my heaters’ impedance readings are way different, so the heater resistance seems broken. The left one is 29.3 ohms and the right just 11.2 ohms. Just replied to my ticket and awaiting answer. You can find a photo with my unit disassembled below, your unit seems to be newer than mine or older, as there are evident differences as you can see in my photo…

It is the broken ceramic heater that is the culprit of all these issues. Just press the aluminum heat sink that sandwiches the ceramic and the 2 metal plates to complete the circuit back to normal. You can switch the heaters form one another to diagnose the problem.

That’s what I ended up doing. I simply took out the heater and exchanged it. The ceramic doesn’t look broken so you may very well be right that it is a connection problem but I’ve assembled everything back up and running. Support did send me the correct heater eventually so I guess I will keep that in case another heater goes again.

Just replaced mine and working like a charm. Bambu’s support is amazing, fast, responsive and so helpful. I’m happy with my purchase…

In my case they sent the correct one, so no tampering with the resistor or whatever… just saved the broken one for spares…
