- Shorten your PTFE tubes as much as possible. 2) Install bend guides to prevent small radius bends. 3) Most important, rerun the AMS setup.
Not knowing how old your AMS is, did you check for wear on the ID of the PTFE tubes inside and to the extruder? How is the angle of the PTFE into the extruder?

Yes, checked all the tubes and bends. Nothing changed, just started doing this out of nowhere.

I cant find anything about setup other then hooking it up. I have reconnected the whole thing. Am I missing something?

Because I am ignorant, it that in Bambu Handy, the Slicer, or the menu on my P1S?

The motor got here today. I will swap it out and keep you informed. Before that, I am doing one more look over everything. I have switched out tubes, changed hall sensor, cleaned out AMS.

Found the problem. The small plastic cover on the underside of the hub in the back is broken. It isnt providing enough pressure to push the filament. Now, it is completely broken. I found an STL online but they suggest ABS and all I have ever printed is PLA.
I too am having a similar issue with my AMS. Only a week old, but it seems I am not able to print multi colored items. I get the āunable to feed filament into extrudedā. I have only had this a week.
I started a multi color print - the AMS is using Spools 2, 3, and 4. It started the print on spool 2 and ran for a while until it was time to change colors which it then swapped to spool 3. Then it went back to 2 just fine. On the next layer it went back to spool 3 without a problem, but then when it came back to spool 2 again I get the error. I can back the filament out cut a piece off and it will reload. Then it happens again on the next swap. This is only happening on spool 2.
Last week when I first got the printer, this was happening on spool 1. I can print single color off any spool all day long. I can swap spools on/off and load/unload all day, but when it comes to multi color prints, I get this error every time.
So my AMS is also starting to act up. I am able to print with an external spool but each of my AMS slots will push the filament up to the extruder and then stop.
I first cleaned the extruder thinking it was a clog issue, but it kept happening so I tried an external spool to see if the extruder was the issue. It printed fine so I figured something was wrong with the AMS. Iāve cleaned everything and checked to make sure nothing is stuck or broken. Iām thinking I need to buy a new AMS Internal Hub Unit but wanted to see if anyone had any other advice.
Yes, Iām having a similar issue. The internal hub seems to be slipping and I have to push the filament manually for it to re-engage (yes I have cut back the filament to make sure Iām using fresh, undamaged filament). It seems to happen on 2 - 3 slots (1,2 and 3 - these have been used the most for the past 2 years). I have cleaned the hub, replaced the PTFE tubes (they were worn), inspected all other tubes and inspected rollers and slot feeders. I have ordered an internal hub and expect it to arrive on Wednesday. Iāll post an update when it has been replaced.
I was having the same problem. I installed a new internal hub today and the filament now feeds into the extruder from all slots. No stalling, no falling short. Problem solved.
I have been battling this AMS failure for a few weeks now. Just in case it helps anyone, my issue was the connection to the motor. I assume it is siliconed in at the factory as it has some vibration issues, but simply removing the silicone (I say simplyā¦) and re-seating the motor connection worked for me aand no money spent.
I bought the P1S combo and itās generally been plug and play which I so appreciate when comparing to all the time and frustration my entry Flashforge printer caused me. But a couple of weeks ago, I started getting consistent notifications that filament from the ams wasnāt able to reach the extruder or whatever the message says (same thing everybody has mentioned - constant loading and reversing until it stops and gives you an alert). Iām still trying to research successful troubleshooting for a permanent fix, but in the meantime, Iāve found if I manually assist the ams when it āfinishesā loading filament, the filament apparently just needs a little force via a set of small pliers and gently pushing it just a few more millimeters. You can feel when you apply that little extra force that it gives a few millimeters and that seems to be all it needs to start extruding on its own again. No issues with filament jamming up or being blocked once extrusion has begun, but anytime Iām loading initially or when it switches to a different colored roll, I have to expect Iāll have to help it get going again. What used to be plug and play heaven is now giving me a little buyerās remorse. Iām sure a permanent fix will turn out to be a simple adjustment Iāve not yet done, but dang itās frustrating!
@heyerc Your description is the exact same problem I was having. My AMS was fine for the first 18 months of moderate to heavy use. The AMS Internal hub is a weak link. I purchased a replacement and it broke in about 3 weeks. I then printed a replacement part and it seems to be more robust. It has been working without issue for about 2 months now. I know this is an old topic but i just recently had the same issue. After trying several of the suggestions, i had to tear the AMS apart and ulrimately found the the extruder cover on the hub was cracked. When i removed it, it fell in two pices. I jumper on makerwoeld and found several models for it. Printed one out and it fit perfectly. Put it back together and the AMS has worked flawlessly since.
