What I don’t get is what type of person or what type of background one has to have in order to defend deceptive practices saying “oh, that’s no big deal” “it’s just 3d print” “some people are content with what they got”… That’s opposite of so many foundational values across the world that this must at best be trolling.
Maybe it isn’t. Then it’s not a crime. You are doing some wild mental gymnastics to defend your point though. Since when has morality and truth been only connected to financial or criminal gain? You are struggling to seperate truth from harm.
I’m going to explain it very clearly. I know you’re intelligent, so follow along.
To post an AI image or rendering as your cover and represent your model as exactly that, burying an actual image that shows it isn’t, is deceptive. Deceptive is a lie.
You are intentionally trying to deceive the user, trick them if you will, into downloading your model. You really don’t give a ■■■■ if it prints well. You throw so many models at the wall that someone not liking it won’t hurt. You count on them not reviewing because the majority of users don’t. Those that do rarely give bad reviews. In short it’s a numbers game.
While no one is physically harmed, that does not make it acceptable no matter how many times or word hoops you put up to defend the practice. Again, it’s being decietful and you know this by trying to hide it behind “no one cares”. You do not know that. There are no statistics that back you up. None. -Bold because in that “you” means you specifically.
My comments are relevant to the argument, regardless if you wish to accept them as such. But here…
AI cover or renders = deceit.
Deceit = wrong.
Are those words relevant?
This is a great example of where permanent ignore functionality on the message board would solve a nagging problem.
There is one, do us both a favour here
Yeah, I’m done as well. Willful ignorance is a difficult thing to overcome.
A year is ok. Sometimes I only do a month or so just to let the dust settle from a disagreement in a discussion. I hate to condemn someone because I disagree.
What’s the bridge that’s for sale?
There are two on that image.
I may be interested.
I’m glad you can identify the behavior you have been doing
Have I got a deal. I can sell you both, even give a discount.
Another person that wishes their opinion to be final
No joking, that comment reminded me of:
Any way, @kvnper, it’s turning childish, as above. I won’t argue with someone who has just abandoned reason. Maybe in a month we can revisit it without emotions.
Until then…see ya.
Abandoned your reason (opinion), you mean.
Let’s start again, here’s my arguments:
- There is no evidence that AI generated images are as serious a problem as you think. Mountain of a molehill.
- There is no evidence that truth is truth, in regards to this issue, is the sole and/or prominent importance to the majority userbase of Makerworld.
- Opinions here are just that, opinions, not to be imposed upon all users, but some here are acting as if it should.
Yet, that is exactly what you are doing. You are arguing and have been arguing that everyone else is wrong and that your opinion is 5he correct one.
Why not agree to disagree and stop rehashing the same arguments against everyone that clearly disagrees with you.
This entire thread is dedicated to people mostly being annoyed at AI being misused.
You are telling everyone who believes there is a problem that there isn’t a problem not even the ones stated by those who took the time and that you are the arbiter of the truth.
Well done, you get a badge.
Nope, I’ve been arguing that everyone else is trying to make their opinion final and as if they represent everyone. You have been misinterpreting many comments so far.
Just like everyone else has been doing…
Everyone is telling me that their problems are everyone’s problems.
Well done, you don’t get a badge?
So now you telling me that our problem is now your problem too. It’s kind of hilarious actually, sorry ^^
You know this all thread was never a rant against Deltaprints models but he was sited as an example because he is a highly visible part of the iceberg.
And it was sure that other uploaders seeing that would follow and even improve the technique used.
So to summarise, AI generated images and models can be used to deceive people. Welcome my friend
PSA: One of the best features of this board is the block feature, you can do it for a period of time or ‘forever’ if you wish, and you can even still see their responses if you really wanted to. I think it’s absolutely great. Let’s all make use of it. Hey even if you’re sick of me! But yeah, I blocked kvnper i’m over the contrarian trolling
That’s just one of the sins. Let’s not forget moral relativism (and using it as a shield), projection of "everybody is wrong and wants to have their opinion final’ while at the same time arguing for theirs, dismisal and minimalization of harms…
Newsflash: ALL of them are. You’ve shown how far bobow has gone to hide deceit making it “actual deceitful” while at the same time defended deceitful ones that are “slightly less bad”. Where do you draw a line? There can be another arse saying “oh that’s not big deal, look, bobow has thousands downloads, people rate the profiles with purposefuly deceitful non-real images as 4-5 stars, taht’s fine, deltaprints did it, this one just shows the models a bit more printed, that’s even less bad” - basically doing same thing for bobow as you do for deltaprints.
This could and should stop at first deceit: AI Generated image doesn’t represent the model thus can’t be cover image. That solves it. No need to go into deep dive “oh look at the detail of the stem, look at the 4th toe…” Deception is deception and that’s that.
Well said, this user is enjoying being a troll, loving their own voice and playing both sides of an argument they can’t win but can cry about.
This will be the theme for him from now on, so blocking is the best option.
He’s decided to go into other threads and pick arguments against a user in this thread.
It’s sad. He does represent the other side of this debate yet get’s stuck on that flawed argument.
Oh well. I just went for a month. Guess I’ll see.
Check out this one
I had half a mind to tell them to generate an AI image to get more downloads (kidding of course)
I’m going to print it, just for their sheer honesty
In my opinion some models are just shown poorly. This may benefit from a matte filament to avoid all that shining
