I think it’s to encourage people who just signed up to use the search bar and read through some threads of people who had the same or similar problem they are having. It helps prevent people from signing up and posting a question that’s been asked many times before. Well that and it also stops most spammers.
So weird. I cannot post and I have no idea how to
Very annoying, that one cannot just post ones questions directly without wasting much time beforehand.
Thanks! I was confused on how to create a post aswell.
The rules are there to reduce spam and robo posts, and they work very well.
There are very few new questions or problems to be resolved. Usually solutions can be found with a search in less than the ten minutes of reading required to reach Basic level. So reading a few search results can answer your question while also increasing your read time, and you may happen to find other useful information in the process.
Then the rest of us do not suffer the “annoying” time wasted by reading and responding to questions from noobs, questions that have been answered many times before.
The b2b website that I am accessing from the link I received is not sending the code for me to login… Sometimes it arrives HOURS later! I am beyond pissed, I’ve been trying for days now, the developers working on that system should be all fired! If I didn’t have a specific need for this printer I would already buy Prusa or something else…
How do you tag your posts? I created a post in the “Feature Request” section but was unable to tag it properly. Usually, there is a feature showing tags but this Discourse site doesn’t seem to have it. Maybe I don’t have enough site karma to add tags or something. What am I doing wrong?
@JonRaymond I’ve been upgraded to basic user. I’ve spent like 20 ish minutes reading this forum and others after being promoted to basic user… I’m still not sure where the “Create a topic” button is. It’s absolutely annoying.
Welcome to the forum.
You might try logging out and back in again. That has worked form some users once they have reached Basic User status.
The “New topic” should be in the top right hand corner.
so published my first post a while ago. now i’ve logged in and i cant post it again. there is no button. i’ve got not bans, suspension or anything like that. just not ability to start a new post
You were still classified as a “new user” because you only had 10 minutes of read time. You should be able to post now.
thank you for information.
Nice, thanks for the info. I was going nuts for a second there.
