I am a new user here and have reached basic level.
I have had a bambu printer for a year and am super happy with it and the support received from Bambu. I will read the foum if required but normally when I need help will peruse the Bambu wiki etc. It is superb and therefore the forum is really helpful when that is exhaused. Having said that, for me the reason to sign up was to report a bug.
Having spend the last hour looking thru the whys and wherefores I am happy not to bother. Someone else will pick up on it…
As others have mentioned elsewhere it taints the experience and the fact that I am having to post via a reply demonstrates that.

Still has accessibility issues

There, I said it. ADA barriers to access in my case. Every forum has their basic requirements spelled out. At most you are limited to posting to basic forums until you show you are a member. I have moderated forums in the past. This is a horrible introduction for newcomers.

There are much much better methods of doing that.

The lack of onboarding is annoying, I get why people are angry.

It took me some time (weeks) before I comprehended that discobot thing had relevance, it came across as spam from the outset.

Discover ability here is poor.

It absolutely is a problem but you likely missed all the junk posts that came in when that wasn’t enforced. People(bots?) were posting links to god knows what in here, spam, etc. It happens in any forum where there isn’t some energy barrier to just signing up and posting.

Between the two situations, I’ll take initial difficulty for new users every time. It’s a problem for new folks to be sure, though.

There is so much tied to our printers. I wonder if users with Bambu printers ought to be given posting rights from the start to help them troubleshoot. The junk that was posted before was probably from users without printers (my guess).

Any ideas why the header is suddenly black lettering?

If I select a thread, the thread header is white, but scrolling up changes thread header to Bambu forum header(as it always has) but the last few days, that header is black, it used to be white. Not sure if I’ve inadvertently changed a setting I can no longer locate?

Not sure what this tutorial is, but I’m unable to create any threads at all… strange issue to have in a forum…

This is a very poor way of handling this. Making an argument like this tells people to avoid your platform. Also, making an argument for this system is silly considering it is intentional in order to allow a manager to not be drowned in endless queries rather than have enough support for issues. You could easily solve this problem by having a post button and require specific flags to be selected. There is 0 reason why a user should have to use reddit just to post on your forum. I didnt even find this post without using reddit. So much for “Organized”

Should just include an account promotion that allows posting after a purchase. Bambu Labs has no need to cater towards people who have not purchased their product. I respect the fact this forum even exists, but for me to want to just ask a basic question about if the software will prevent me from a hotend temp upgrade of 20C and be told I need to go to 5 different locations… yeah cya. Defeats the point of all of this. I tend to have habits of going online and helping people solve their issues for a few days so the company is basically telling me they dont even want conversation or assistance. I’m not going to go out of my way to support people when I can do so in much easier ways, its insanity.

So when do I get the Basic status? how is it gonna keep track of how much I read? or should I just randomly throw around thumbs ups and hearts everywhere without actually caring? This system sure filters out people that urgently need help / have a question and people that only come here for one question. It sounds like they treat this forum platform as a sort of digital book collection.

Nope, it’s a simple as reading.
