True. I found that odd. The only thing I could think of is that maybe these are split ducts, but I havnt found a better pic Maybe the blower fan is amazing or massive
@Hamstah Its all good. I have issues with not being a jerk while explaining my thoughts on something. You did nothing wrong. Sorry. Im never mad. Just a bit autistic lol
Iāll be shocked if BBL donāt just make a bigger machine with 2 x print heads, making 4 nozzles total. One tool head parked whilst the other prints. So IDEX but 2 x nozzles each head. No purge, faster multicolor/material without the extra time.
Iām wrong about the acceleration. I had remembered the X1C max acceleration as being 10,000, because thatās what I see in the Orca Slicer profile. But when I check the hardware spec, it actually says 20,000, the same as the N2D:
I want to say that when i bought my first x1c, they were advertised as 600mm/s and 10,000acceleration. I looked later and it said 500mm/s and 10000 acceleration. Maybe im crazy or it has changed with firmware revisions
I just did some quick checking, and It turns out 20,000mm/sec^2 is fairly typical for acceleration, at least on paper specs. Flashforge 5M has it (a fairly inexpensive machine), as does Qidi X-Max 3 and Qidi Plus 4, and Elegoo Centauri Carbon. On the other hand, Creality K2 claims 30,000mm/sec^2. Sovol SV08 claims 40,000. Wow, I need to take another look at that one. I donāt remember the reviews touting it for speed.
Aurora is pretty good at showing speed comparisons. The k2 is really fast. I think only the flsun was faster. She says the plus 4 is the highest quality of any printer she has ran.
I just now looked into it. Even though SV08 offers more acceleration, the potential is lost because its cooling sucks compared to the X1C.
In short, by themselves, paper specs donāt tell enough of the big picture story to reach any solid conclusion regarding which machines are fastest at equal levels of quality. We need Aurora to do her usual banquet of tests and then show the print quality and elapsed time.
Obviously, the same holds true for the H2D.
Iām starting to get cold feet. I need to see the evidence to know how much of a difference the differences make. Iām not going to buy on blind faith. I want solid proof, especially since the print area size is disappointly below expectation, even though user feedback was both loud and clear.
Ender 5 Max may not be enclosed and is probably just a barebones creality machine with all the problems that come with that, but at least itās 400x400x400mm and available today. It might be another 2 years or maybe even never before Bambu releases a printer with that size. Bambu has its priorities, and clearly large print volume isnāt one of them.
Luckily for me (I hope), Iām not upgrading from a modern day 3D printer, so this will be better than anything I currently own. I donāt think I can be disappointed. Someone upgrading from X1C, that may be a different story.
Im upgrading from X1c, for me to be disappointed it would have not be non-serviceable POS, not slightly slower etc.
Also X1 in ludicrous mode uses the full 20k acceleration, movement up to 800mm/s speed, you can also set those values in slicer manually. The limiting factor on it was hot end flow, and mainly the heater not keeping up.
