How do you get the latest beta firmware on your machine?
Okay youāre good there. Just wanted to verify.
since the beta my prints also seems alot better when it comes to z banding
Iāll give it a try before the next print job. Thanks!
Yeah no problem could have been it. The bigger lines in the print might be due to the part being so big that the edges of the print slightly peel of the bed and warp. maybe thats what the big lines are on my print I shared this morning
Itās totally possible warping could be the cause like you said. May have to turn down the chamber fan and let the chamber get slightly warmer. Just donāt go too warm if itās pla. Iāve gone as high as 38°c with pla+ and 42°c with PETG to prevent warping on larger models.
how did you reduce the friction ? is there a guide for it?
Proper Tube Routing
Orientation: Ensure PTFE tubes are routed with gentle curves and minimal bends to reduce resistance.
Bundling: Keep PTFE tubes bundled together to prevent excessive dispersion, which can increase friction.
I have the error with Benchy in exactly the same place, but only with Benchy and only with PLA.
All other prints are OK.
Worth reading this. Just in case you observed issues on benchy only, especially the hull lineā¦
@SupportAssistant you are kidding, right? You have 10+ individual people commenting here they have exactly the same issue, and your solution is to provide more pictures and try to divert the discussion but statements such as light angle?
My H2D for which I have also purchased and used the ā¬100 calibration plate has exactly the same issue.
Asking one individual to go through support ticket when you have a thread full of valuable feedback is not the right solution.
I helped someone with what I think was the same issue.
Their h2d was sitting on a table and the table top was bowing under the weight of the printer as well as the whole thing was shaking a lot when printing.
We put it on the floor (we checked level to make sure it is straight) and the issue seems to be resolved.
Even though it is a big and rigid printer I think It is very important that it sits on a level surface that is strong enough not to deflect under the weight of the printer.
Wobbly table is definitely not a good place for it.
My z banding is not gone. I originally posted after printing a few items that were singular items with straight walls that my printer was printing beautiful now. After I did some parts where there are multiple parts with geometry changes, holes, multiple levels the problem came back. Anywhere on that part or any other part on the bed that has a geometry change I get z-banding for that layer on ALL parts. This is with BambuLab PETG-HF that was dried for 8 hours at 65*c. All factory filament profiles. Iām going to try and dry the filament out for another 10 hours in the AMS 2 this time. But a few parts I did with that same filament printing straight out of my Space Pi dryer that day came out perfect. I didnāt watch the print as I had family stuff to take care of so I donāt know if the print temps or something else were different that what was on the slicer. As it looks like wet filament or it printed too hot.
Read the wiki on xy belt tensioning.
So I tightened every bolt/screw I could. I did the XY belt tensioning, did the bed tram. THEN installed the new 01.01.02.04 beta firmware, reset, all calibrations including precision nozzle offset with 2 filaments, and encoder plate calibration. I spent almost half a day between the mechanical parts, the update, and all the calibrations. This was after all that. I just sent in a new support ticket.
Dang, it sounded promising that the beta firmware would fix it. I have had z banding since getting the printer. I will have to open a case, just been lazy, since I know they will ask for lots and lots of information. I was hoping the internet would provide a fix. Unfortunately, my $300 Centauri Carbon that I received a couple weeks ago is running circles around this printer for me. That said, I am a big fan of Bambuās printers, as evidenced by my 2 P1S units, 3 A1 minis, and A1. The H2D has been a huge letdown so far.
Their support ticket process is a major PIA. Iām going to create another one for the bed temp issues. Only thing I can see that they changed was the temperature was increased by maybe 5c but Iām getting 10-12C difference from high to low in the corners. And I do get warping on some parts with PETG where they lift and warp. On new BETA 01.01.2.04 after 15 min warmup, 110*C setpoint, no fans on, door open for less than 20 seconds to snap photo.
I just had the same issue but on my A1 Mini with a 0.2 nozzle⦠Iām wondering if it is a software issue and not necessarily the H2D or firmware. I actually havenāt noticed any issues on my H2D.
