I got a brand new P1S on the Black Friday deal 2.5 months ago. It came with a broken front panel board. After a slow back and forth with the support and following their request to provide with videos, they claimed it was a broken board and sent me a new one. This whole process took almost 2 months. Then, I installed the new board, but can’t connect to wifi and the camera is not working either. I requested this to be replaced as I am no longer willing to troubleshoot with their very slow customer service. It’s been 2 weeks since my messages and didn’t get any reply back. Anyway to escalate this before I take this with my credit card company and charge back? I want to have a Bambu lab printer, but this is unacceptable to have been not able to use it for almost 3 months. I mean with the exchange of this, probably it will be closer to 3.5-4 months. I am surprised Bambu Labs is in still business with this terrible support…
Did you double check that you plugged wifi antenna back in to the board when you replaced it? It’s easy to miss. Another question, if the wifi doesn’t work, how do you know the camera doesn’t work as you can only see the camera feed via wifi?
Log it with your credit card company and then low and behold they will respond. They simply don’t take support seriously, i had to do the same thing as i am sick and tired of waiting months to get a reply. When i had enough i logged a section 75 credit card claim which they found in my favour. When my credit card company credited my account back i then get a message from Bambu after ignoring me for over 3 weeks to say they will offer a refund. This is just not acceptable and they have no excuse for this as they have been around long enough now to ramp up their support.
As you have logged a ticket and they are now ignoring it i would just go through your credit card company. It’s less stressful this way.
I am having the same issue. Sounds like I have sand on the belts. Basically came bone dry too. I have two other machines with no issues. Opened a ticket on Jan 26 for a warranty replacement or return and no reply.
Would you log as a warranty claim or a refund?
log it as not fit for purpose and refund
Yes I did. I actually forgot to install the wifi module first time. Then installed it and make sure antenna plugged in. It detects the Bluetooth and passes the connection attempt at times. But fails in wifi section. Sometimes it finds the wifi and gives me wrong password, Bluetooth disconnected, cant connect and many more different errors. Sometimes it says network not found.
I was able to connect with my hotspot once after many tries. But then I disconnected and tried to connect to my home network again with no luck. That is when I found out the camera was not networking. I tried to do a print. Printed a bench, but couldn’t see anything in the camera. It said no camera connected or something like that. After it printed the bench, it threw an error with the same HMB error. I looked it up and it said something like filament sensor.
I bought a new wifi router, I had a spare one from before which I tried as well. I tried a basic password on my 2.4ghz wifi, I even created a new guess wifi for the P1S with a very simple password, and still no luck.
I had the original ticket opened 2.5 months ago. I posted in that ticket after the last step didn’t work and taking too long for them to reply, I stated I want this machine to be replaced. I don’t want a refund unless you give me $10 voucher to get another one from microcenter since I bought this P1S when they had the black Friday sale.
Have you tried seeing if there are any people who can help trouble shoot in the area? Maybe a 3d print shop or a retailer?
Thanks. Looks like I bought this with Paypal. I just opened a Paypal case. If it doesn’t work, I can still open a case with my credit card company.
I asked a friend who has been doing 3D printing from the like first day of DIY printers and running his 3D print farm with like 30 P1S and P1P. HE got stuck with this too.
Frustrating b/c out of the box it sounded and the head moved funny. I have used p1p and p1s without issue. I know they have issues with the a1, but zero customer support? I opened the ticket on Jan 26, have had the printer for 3 weeks. No reply.
I just got an email saying due to holidays (which ended weeks ago), I’d heat back in 3-4 days. It has been 10.
I opened the ticket like December 5. Their last response was on January 24. I replied back the same day. And still no response. They had like 2 weeks before they go to holiday to reply back. That is not an excuse. It is not like I opened the ticket yesterday and they went to holiday today.
Did you have to replace the AP board?
If that’s the case, I’m sure you did but just in case, have you followed wiki process not to bind it but to ask support to change AP bard serial number associated with the printer for it to be recognized on the network?
Precautions:
- When replacing the AP board, be sure to skip the step of binding the machine when turning it on for the first time.
- After confirming that the replacement is completed, it is necessary to update the SN. To do this, please contact the service team and provide the new and old SN to complete the SN replacement process. (The printer SN of P1P is begins with 01S)
I feel this step should only apply to the cloud and not in LAN only mode but?
Yes, They did that. It took them another 8 days to change the SN after I put the info in the ticket. Wifi didnt work. I contacted them after that and didnt hear back ever since. This was 2 weeks ago.
Guess you need a new AP board then, this one must be DOA.
I am done with replacement. Now they need to take this one and send me a new one. I am not gonna wait their slow ass to reply me every 2 weeks when they feel like it. If it was a decent speed so far, I don’t mind replacing the AP board. But I am already waiting their sweet ass for 2.5 months. I am not gonna take another chance.
If you replaced the AP board you have to contact support with the new Serial Number thats on the board (QR code) and your old serial. They’ll ask for a pic of both. The old serial is on the right side of the printer near the top inside, another QR code. They will switch it and it’ll work. Until then nothing will.
IF you have done all of that you will need to bind the printer to Handy. Search the Wiki for AP board replacement.
I did all of these. It didnt work. And Bambu Support didn’t reply ever since. I replaced 3 wifi routers, created bew wifi network with simple password etc… and still no luck.
I’ll assume you’re on a 2.4ghz network.
I will suggest some things I ran across.
May double check the wifi antenna is plugged in properly. That little connector is a pita.
I’ve been where you are, but I can’t remember any weird steps. Just be sure to delete the BT connection from your phone when trying.
If it comes to me I’ll drop you a message
