They would also have fewer cheaters if they would just go through a few times and clean them out, take away their points, and ban them.
If they want Bambu printers and not just to sell cheap and compete with Bambu, that might scare them enough.
But so much of this wouldn’t even be here if there was any kind of reputation for enforcement.
Instead, I doubt I’m the only one who won’t post exclusive models for fear of getting creamed there with something legitimate. But then how many cheats are in the exclusive program? Sigh.
I’ve been wanting to enter it but I just don’t have any active designs that could utilise it, and I’ve tried to design stuff for the competition specifically in the past and it’s been my most unimaginative work
If there’s some rubber bands in there I got a brush washing station that could go in but it’s a stretch
And you can enter 5 times! I’ve been saying for months, 1 entry limit! Let people decide on a solid entry and submit it, right now anyone can enter a couple things early on to get the extra exposure, and if they do have a legit entry, well they can still do it
I can assure you that getting the most downloads isn’t criteria for winning, my AE86 trueno key hanger far surpassed every other model in the contest by all metrics at the time and all I got was an achievement award (I’m not ungrateful fyi…. Just jealous I didn’t win so maybe a little selfishness there)
Also, having low downloads (etc) doesn’t mean you won’t win. This entry STILL has low metrics and came third, historically, models placing top 3
Get a massive boost of downloads etc after they are announced
I am sorry to step into here, but yes i can taste the saltiness in your comment. When the contests started, there was indeed a lack of explanation that kept the people puzzling why a certain model won over another. That changed and we now get comments from the judges that improved that a lot. We can now see why a model was chosen - we can still disagree.
From what i can see, the judges picking models constantly what stands out. I have not the feeling that a “popular” designer has better chances than a newcomer. What holds true, with the maturing platform, the competition gets harder. More talents entering the stage, and to be honest - i feel nothing to complain here, except the “s*** i hoped i can make it”.
I’m wondering where this data is from, I feel like I’ve gotten about 200 boosts since the contest ended
I might have a look at the creator console thing which I’ve been avoiding learning to use !
Edit: no I messed up, I was misreading this post
That winning model I posted is not mine, it’s by someone who was won a few contests and is even featured in the banner of several other contests as well
