Thanks, YMMD!
I never reported ratings and comments because the selectable reasons do not fit.
I have been struggling with these ārating trollsā too, who can push candy colored buttons on an app, but they canāt read descriptions no matter how big and bold you point it out.
Now i reported one and it took less than 5 minutes and the 1 star rating was gone.
@MakerWorld i have been reporting several and you guys arent taking action any more, getting frustrating when you get ratings sabatoged over things out of our power
Thereās been a new flood lately. Everyoneās getting printers now that we are heading into winter.
We all learn along the way, but at some point I know Iāll have no patience left and Iāll need to stop posting here and on MW.
My worry is that new users like this, that do not deserve anger, will eventually trigger me and then Iāll feel bad.
Did my son tell you to post this?!? Tell him this does not get him out of having to clean the litter box!
And yeah I know⦠thatās why I said they do not deserve anger. But it can be grating sometimes.
As a newcomer to 3D printing, I appreciate the work that creators invest in their models.
If I download a model, I have an interest in the model working in my use case, rating the usefulness is easy. It seems like rating a print profile that wasnāt configured for my specific printer or filament doesnāt appear to make sense. Also, designers have no control over my environment, maintenance or my stupidity. I can comment on design issues, but even that in many cases is my opinion. Creators in general are usually responsive, but clearly a lot of people donāt want to invest the time in rating a print. FYI I donāt rate everything that I print, when I do, I try to include an image.
I have a question about printing models, does the creator benefit from me printing the same object multiple times, is there a benefit to the creator if I rate each print process?
I think that rating the print profile is Bambuās way of suggesting to make print profiles āworkingā and for āratingā model thereās likes (with no value to them except maybe algorithmic) and boosts (with a lot of value to them).
The print profiles are especially handy for bambu handy (pun) since thereās no way in the handy to configure slicing params. So users are left at the mercy of print profile creator.
I do recommend rating, especially when everything went well, that helps creators (especially those with very little or no ratings on their profiles)
AFAIK no, only the first counts.
AFAIK no, only the first counts (unless single object has multiple print profiles for eg addons, in which case rating each print profile for separate item does count)
I just checked this print profile. Itās indeed very easy to collapse during printing, and these several parts are all lacking sufficient adhesion area on the heated bed.
If you clean your bed it wont fall i had over 250 others it didnt fall off on its also a 1 piece print, so one person cant clean their bed and i get rating abused for it. You guys are a real let down supporting designers
I think @Tanklet is correct in his assessment - based on the screenshots I can imagine that the print can fail even with clean bed and bambu filament. The problem is that for beginner itās hard to convey the message and for designer to get it.
Why donāt you add a profile made as suggested by @Tanklet with a name suggesting thatās itās multi-part and made easier to print for those who need it? Then if the one-star rating for ādifficultā profile comes, you can point user to easier version and ask for the removal of rating for difficult one.
lol you canāt argue against facts that is a poor positioning, sure it can print now and again, but itās a roll of the dice
The way you dismiss perfectly valid suggestions tells a lot, and itās not bambu not supporting its designers given that @Tanklet even went through the trouble of giving you examples on how to make it better
If hundreds of others can print it no problem, the one star rating from that one turd shouldnāt be an issue. So donāt worry about it.
That said, it is our responsibility as designers to create designs that are suitable for 3D printing and, in the case of MW, add print profiles that have a margin for error.
In this case both issues are not addressed IMO. Ideally a design would have as much bed contact surface as possible with as little support as possible. If that
His suggestion is not better, it has 4 solid points it touches the bed along with added supports. I have it angled for a reason and its a simple print the fact that hundreds have printed it with no issue should be evidence enough that it doesnt deserve a 1 star ratring along with the fact the person provided no proof whatsoever he even tried to print it. I have printed 20 of them myself ZERO failures but i clean my bed.
it is better, it looks like you donāt understand how, and that is part of the problem
you keep saying hundreds have printed, you have 116 makes, and quite a few highlights in the comments with issues, on which you are always defensive saying itās bed adhesion or filament calibration Ā· sure those issues happens sometimes, but your profile is setting up for failure
you can argue all you want, iāll not further discuss, youāre clearly a brilliant designer and printer and know better, in fact you shine so bright, thatās like itās staring directly at the sun, which i canāt handle, so congratulations you made it to the ignore list
oh no im so hurt some random on the internet put me on her ignore list, whatever will i do⦠also i had it on other sites prior to making it exclusive with over 100 prints ā¦
No support and a teeny tiny contact patch that should hold up the lump of plastic on top while a hot-end is angrily trying to hash the infill as quickly as possible.
While both profiles are not ideal, the one with the one star rating that has no support to speak of has only 11 makes. (so not 250)
And then that poor chap that wasted his filament and time on a print profile that is just gets this abuse thrown his way as well:
