Mod the Modplate

May have already been answered; if it is I could not find it. I’d like to mod the modplate file with an image and colors that are not already available. Been hitting the YouTube and grumpy Reddit but cannot find anyone that can answer the question. I’m not an engineer so anything more complicated than Tinkercad is going to be a stretch, I’m to long in the tooth to go learning any of that stuff. I’m willing to pay someone with the skills to make the mod to my specs though. Thanks in advance!

which modplate and what image?

Did you manage to print the normal modplate. My first attemp was just ruined (20 Minutes before the end). The noozle broke the parts of the plate and the print is not good in all layers

One part broke off the plate

Parts beginning to have an offset

Do I have to reduce the speed? The parts are swinging a lot

I’d like to have the Gadsden Flag on the Armor mod-plate.

dont tread on me

No, but I’ve printed 100’s of hours on the P1P and have not had any problems like that.

the parts are tall with a small base, you’re probably going to have to print them slow. I printed them on a Ender 3 because I wanted to print slow with 0.12 layer height anyways, it was gonna be a waste to print on the P1P

Maybe one of these two styles float your boat? The official Gadsden flag has pretty bad lines and doesn’t translate well to printing, so I did the best I could with that. Bambu also did something weird with one of the files, like the side panel and the column collide with each other at the bottom. You get what you pay for I guess.

Thanks. Sorry for the delay. I see we share similar views account images. Nice to see that. I will check out these files when I’m on a machine that has either a viewer or a slicer on it.

WOW. Those are amazing! Well done. Have you actually printed the side panels. Broke out the original file into objects and placed them on separate build plates. Have not been able to get a clean and consistent print of the side panels. Tried most of the layer heights with PolyTerra filament, which normally works pretty great on both the X1 and the P1P.

The armor modplates really suck to print and the layer lines look really bad. I made filled pegboard modplates that print much better. I’ll get those files up here in a bit.

Nice. Thanks. Those modplate panels are the only ugly thing that’s come off either of these printers!

Not sure how it’ll look printed. Here are the rest of the plates to go with it, this just replaces B4.

I will print it tonight and post some pics. Thanks!

Hobo4assassin, Plate B4 came out excellent. .016, PolyTerra filament, P1P with Textured Bed.

woof that looks sick! I was worried about the recessed parts being unsupported but that adds a texture that actually looks awesome

Yeah, I’m super happy with that. How did you do that BTW? I’m pretty design ignorant. I do most of my stuff in Tinkercad or meshmaker sometimes.

I use Onshape. It’s free, powerful, pretty simple to use, and has tons of free learning resources.

What print orientation did you use? It looks like the face that we are seeing was facing down when printed.

correct, that’s really the only good way to print these plates, and the way Bambu has them in their official pegboard 3mf

Yes. What Hobo stated is correct.
