Did you get a replacement printer?

I got an answer as well I don’t have to buy the suspected broken part - after I claimed my right to return. Now they just send it. without asking if that’s fine for me. Which it’s not. This p2s they sold me is trashware. They know it and still trying.

Oh and when I say manage 250 Bambus. than I talk about admin network stuff. Not printing itself. That’s why I bought one to understand them much better and become a pro.

Bambu Support es actively ignoring my wish to return the device.

I want the printer replaced not parts.

If you agreed with me and generated a return label, then everything is fine for now. My only criticism is the delay in responding, but I guess you must have a lot of work to do.

I agree with you. When a product has a fatal problem within 2 weeks or receipt, you should just return it. No telling what other headaches it iss goign to cause you later. Their return policy is 2 weeks, so definitely push for a refund.

If it’s any consolation: I too ordered the P2S early (17 Oct) and it’s been running faultlessly from the day it arrived. Delivering high quality prints without any hassle, with just 1 spaghetti due to my own fault, and detected and stopped by the printer. Printed different brands PLA and Bambu PETG-HF. So chances are that your replacement might be just as good, and you won’t regret buying a P2S after all. I wish you the best!

Thanks! This is encouraging to read. I’m pretty sure it will be resolved. That’s why I agreed to exchange the printer rather than opting for a refund, which BL also offered. I guess 99% of problems will probably end up on the forum, but only 1% of the machines that work flawlessly.

For me it’s more or less the same. I ordered around 16th. So far im only annoyed by the HotendFan, but beside that, everything the printer is supposed to do works.
Compared to my P1S, which was replaced by the P2S, it outperfomes in every way and all in all im very satisfied by the mashine.

Of course, reading all the posts about mashines dying and extruders failing, noise gantries etc. paint a picture of a disastrous product.
However i guess that the percentage of good units compared to the failing ones posted on here is significantly higher.

I’d say the chance of getting another bad unit as a replacement is kinda low. :smiley:

Well… after 33 days in coma and after replacing some circuit boards my P2S came back to life!!!

It seems that at least for now everything is working as it should.

But now an unexpected problem has arisen. I planned to buy different colored PETG filaments from the BLi store, but it seems that Black Friday has essentially emptied the store and there is basically no choice in PETG colors anymore. :frowning:

Can anyone tell me if, for example, 3DJAKE filament rolls can be used with AMS 2 PRO? Of course, RFID does not work with them, but can these filaments be used for multicolor printing through AMS2 PRO?

Don’t know about 3DJAKE, but I’ve used Polymaker (cardboard spools), BASF Ultrafuse (plastic spools) and cheap SMART Filament PLA (plastic spools) and they all work well in the AMS 2 Pro. I’ve done some 4-colour prints, with mixed brands, including Bambu Lab, and the only thing different is that the Bambu spools give an indication of how much filament is left on the spools. So multicolour printing with mixed brands (of the same material) is no problem.

I read somewhere that there are problems with cardboard spools and that many plastic spools from other manufacturers are also not compatible with the AMS 2 PRO.

I am pretty happy with PETG from DevilFilament. I started using it precisely because when I got my new P1S, Bambu PETG was simply unavailable, and I still use it today. Excellent color selection, great quality as far as I can tell. No problems in AMS Pro. I’m not sure if it’s available in your area (but since you mention 3DJake, it probably is…).

I really hope all these issues have been addressed before the US release. I am about to receive mine on Monday. Coming from an ender 3 a buddy gave me i finally saved up enough for a new machine. This one had checked off all the things i wanted in one. So I’m a bit nervous since I’m still new to 3d printing. I do know its a fraction that post so that helps. Hopefully everyone got these issues sorted out.

3DJake have a list on their website of all the filament rolls that are compatible with the AMS. Check it out.

Same thing happened to me. After a day of almost being tempted into throwing my P2S out the door, it turned out that i had a unsupported USB drive inserted into the top. I switched thumb drives and boom everything worked again. Hope this helps.

My P2S also just died and my 10 year plus CR-10 is saving Christmas as I have a bunch of toys I am printing. :roll_eyes:

I have used both plastic and cardboard spools from a half dozen different manufacturers and they all work fine with the proper settings. I know they frown on the cardboard because supposedly, the paper fibers mess up the AMs. After many hundreds of hours on my P1S I had yet to see a problem or a buildup of any fibers anywhere. I have also used them on my new P2S with no issues.

Just be sure you don’t use the small 250G rolls or non- BL TPU in the AMS. Your mileage may vary, so use at your own risk. .

Thought I’d add to this thread in case anyone else has an experience similar to mine. I received my new P2S on Friday, unboxed, and printed a benchy and scraper. On Saturday morning, I went to print a poop tray. The print started fine, so I left the printer unattended. After about 30-40 minutes, I got a notice on my phone that the printer was stopped by user request. Went to check it out and the printer was displaying an error related to power (sorry, I didn’t get the exact error code). Cycled the power on the printer and resumed the print. After another hour or so, the same error popped up. This time I was in my office and noticed the power to the machine “glitched”. I moved to a different electrical outlet, changed surge protectors, etc. The print of the poop box finished so I decided to start a small print. Almost immediately the printer experienced a power glitch but this time the printer did not turn back on although the main power switch was still illuminated.

I searched through the manuals and began to follow the troubleshooting suggestions provided by the Bambu AI. Opened the rear panel, retrieved my digital multimeter and began probing voltages. The power supply was fine - 24.11V on the output. I traced the 24V output to the MC board. The voltages on the exposed conductor of the connector were reading 24.11V but no LEDs illuminated on the MC board. So, more troubleshooting. When I took my DMM probe and applied upward force to the bottom lead, BAM! the power came back ON. A little more troubleshooting leads me to believe that there is a really bad solder connection on the MC board power connector. I would guess that the movement of the printer was enough to break an already marginal solder connection.

Contacted support to see what they will do for a replacement. Like others have said, I’m sure they’ll want to send me a new MC board but it’s a major disappointment that something so basic failed out of the factory. I have two X1Cs and an H2S at work and they are rock solid. Perhaps the corners cut in making an affordable printer are catching up with Bambu???

Interesting — I came across your post because I’m trying to understand how sensitive the P2S is to minor physical contact.

In your experience, could something as minor as setting a ream of copy paper on top of a P2S, or accidentally leaning a lightweight broomstick against the outside of it, realistically cause the printer to completely stop working?

I’m talking about normal light contact — no dropping it, knocking it over, or hard impact.

If something that minor could cause a complete failure, what component would you expect it to damage?

I’m trying to understand whether that kind of contact could realistically kill a P2S, or whether a sudden internal/electrical failure like the one you experienced would be a more likely explanation.
