This week one of my models was quite successful, and quickly appeared the scammers of points, but I see that it is something very common, many of the models in trends suffer the same problem.
Several accounts proceed to download the original print profile created by the designer, modifying only the size of the model, without providing any value, such as better configurations or different finishes, no added value.
They then upload the profile as their own and wait for the free and effortless drip of points.
To top it off, they use the same images with different accounts, mirroring the images and cropping them, to take advantage of the system and also receive points for commenting and posting photos.
Tired of these scammers, who to top it off, take with their profiles part of the points that belong to legitimate designers.
THE DESIGNERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHOOSE THAT NO ONE CAN ADD A PROFILE TO OUR MODELS, or at least delete the ones we think are convenient.
I will go through your thread, we should get control over the profiles that are created for our proprietary designs, or at least some more quality control.
I had a situation like yours where I put something on Makerworld, and before I could also put it on makeronline, someone had used my photos mirrored, and already posted on makeronline.
I went ahead and posted over there and reported the other profile. Makeronline removed their content.
I definitely don’t…especially if they are alive and in the same room/area with me… I’d rather keep my distance of such cuties …safer than sorry
I can’t understand why the creators of a listing don’t have control over THEIR listing. The cost of having these bad actors is real:
Reporting the abusive behavior is a cost on the creator/good citizens
Handling the reports is a cost on Bambu resources
These profiles create confusion, they lessen the quality of the listing and experience. There is a cost to the user base, those printing the model, because of this confusion and loss of quality.
I’m not saying that other profiles can’t be uploaded to a listing, I’m saying give the creator control of THEIR listing. There is a lot of pride and effort that goes into posting here, and to not be able to control the experience is frustrating.
Bambu??? Are you listening, this has come up over and over. The bad actors are allowed to continue to repeat. There is nobody more interested and invested in making a given listing a positive experience than the creator of the listing.
yeah, I don’t have problem with most user uploaded print profile, but some of them just make no sense , I see one just change print speed and upload to my model (with my picture)
Duplicates that dont offer significant changes to the original profile, can and should be reported by the original uploader/owner, dont forget a lot of them actually came from users creating printer profiles rather than adding significant changes to the original profile.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Right now they seem perfectly ok with people re-uploading models from other sites and even using the other person’s pictures. Also if an account has multiple stolen models just go ahead and ban that whole account, don’t wait for people to report each model.
Lately I’m getting “report rejected” on some even though I link to where they took the model and the pictures from. I think I’m giving up on trying to help, if they don’t police their own site why should I?
