While printing a sign as big as possible (250mm), the print started overlapping with Prime Line.
Is there a way to know or consider this from the slicer, like how much space do i have to leave free and where?
Is there a way to reposition this feature or turn it of entirely, if needed?
Thanks
I guess when you manually move the file on the build plate, even after the slicer says its too close and you force the slice anyway this is what happens
No. The Purgeline is not considert by Slicer. It does not care about it and gives no warning If the printed model is in IT.
OK Thanks. If there are no options other than modifying G Code manually, guess I have to remove the prime line before the print continues or leave circa 5mm of space on the bottom of the plate.
Print was only 250mm and centered on the Plate, there should have been 3mm left on both sides.
Its a two color print right? So the purge tower went where exactly, where’s the wider shot of the plate I need to see something
Print was 250x150, purge tower was off to the side. If i had been aware of the problem before hand, i’d position the print horizontal. That said, it is not really related to the question from my point of view.
As long as the purge line is the same colour as the bottom layer it intersects with it probably won’t be a problem. On a textured bed I’ve found it blends in with the bottom layer. A utility knife takes care of the remaining attached purge line on the print.
Anything on the plate is related. Don’t worry though, I won’t be replying to you again
Thanks. From this one case, this is my experience to
I thought I’d create a feature request: Increase build volume by moving nozzle purge/load lines
I’ve done it, and it was not a problem in most cases.
I only remember a minor problem regarding surface quality with PETG; I think it could have been avoided if I had removed the purge line whilst the print was warm.
Bumbu studio actually displays the purge line after slicing, just saw that for the first time. Call me ignorant. At least no guess work needed anymore
A quick workaround for this issue if you do need the build plate space is to setup a pause at layer 1 in BambuStudio, remove the prime line when it pauses, then resume.
Or skip the pause and just do it live…but I always forget and end up with a prime line embedded in my part
+1 this.
Would be nice if this was an on/off software option.
