Problems with loading the filament from AMS to printer

At 00:15 and 01:00?
That sounds like the the motor struggling against filament jammed on the spool. Just before that happens, the video also shows a jump of the filament.

When that happens to me, I can sometimes be quick enough to lift up the spool, put a finger under the filament and untangle. A more durable fix is to search MakerWorld for “AMS Saver”, print and install those. They do not eliminate the issue completely, but they really cut down on occurences.

Another item I noticed is the cardboard spools show deformation and wear. I have only ever used a single cardbord spool in the AMS myself so I can only really speculate: In particular the left side seems to have deformed which encourages filament entanglement during re-winding/pull-back. Prior to loading my cardboard spool, I applied blue painters tape along the edge to prevent dust release into the AMS. Not sure if it helps in the long run regarding cardboard deformation from mechanical action and moisture, but then again, I usually stick to plastic spools in the AMS these days.

Hope this helps,
Eno

I had a similar problem after the first time I used PetG and went back to PLA, the AMS would try to load 3 times and finally give up, I tried with all 4 spools with the same outcome, no error popped up but I saw a dot appear next to HMS in the software. I could see the filament get to the hot end every time then retract. At that time, new to the software I did not know what HMS was or for what it was for, A long story short it was a clogged nozzle and after only a few days printing with my new P1S, my old printer, an Anet A8 I had had a clog now and then but never like this one, especially as you cannot take off the nozzle, it took me 4 hours to get it sorted once I found out what the problem was.

When feeding AMS barey gets the filament out of the case and stops. it tries to wind the filament back in but it will not go back in. it does it on all 4 of the feeders. I replaced all the tubing in the AMS.

Welcome to the forum.

What kind of spools are you using?

I am using bambu filament rolls. All the spools i have used worked in the past.

Take a video, and share it here using a YouTube link.

Hi there everyone, we have recently purchased a P1S combo and having followed instructions to the letter, attempted to load filaments into the AMS.
Slot 1 worked fine so did slot 4, but positions 2 and 3 would not take the filament, it appears as if the rollers that rotate the spool are not working in these 2 slots. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Read this thread and click on the link in the thread this might be your problem.
