Random Z-Axis Homing Failures

I am experiencing random z-axis homing failures at the start of prints. I can subsequently run it through a second homing evolution and all is well.
There does not appear to be a real fault but it will go through the pre-printing steps and the bed randomly will run all the way to the bottom of the machine. It is not crashing against the bottom per se, it runs to the programmed low point and stops.
Any thoughts about what may be causing this?
It is printing just fine.

Actually, I ran into something similar and it turned out to be a bed leveling problem due to the bearings popping out. There is a thread on it here as well as a Bambu Wiki.

Trouble with bed leveling

It looks like your bearing has slipped out of place. It should be flush with the bed bracket. Also, you’ve overgreased your printer. This can be the root cause why your bearing slipped. I’ve been wrestling with this for weeks. I have received the 0300-0D00-0002-0006 error. I’ve seen other methods of fixing the bearing problem withoug flipping the printer. Did you try this method? It woul be wonderful if Bambu had some videos for this.

Your reply is my fix. Just before it got to the auto-leveling step, it would fail. I would occasionally get that a rehome repeating when trying to lower the bed. Yep, after an hour and this forum, gee, that bearing is up almost 8 mm. Got a 12 mm wrench and my nylon hammer and gently reseated it. Now printing.
