I just updated my A1 with AMS Lite to the new firmware yesterday before I shut down my printer for the day.
Today I tried to print a very simple flower pot model with a single color.
About every 5 minutes the printer will stop and say that either the spool is stuck or the filament is stuck and suspend the print job.
When inspecting the spool and the filament I don’t see any problem at all and I can just hit the button to resume and it will go right back to printing till about 5 minutes goes by and it will stop and do the same thing again.
This occurred throughout the whole hour-long print, every 5 minutes or so it will stop and say the spool or filament is stuck.
Is there any way to roll back to the previous firmware, at least till I figure out what the issue is?
I am running firmware 1.04.00.00 which I just updated to last night.
I am using some Eleegoo brown PLA which I have printed with many times before without issue.
This is a long shot but… the problem may be somewhere else and not related to the firmware update. I had a similar issue recently that turned out to be a fault with the feeder funnel of one of the AMS Lite slots.
Have you tried running the job from a different AMS Lite slot?
Hi everybody. Do all here have problemms with the new firmware? After i install it , have a lot issue with problems with stucks and clugging. I have no problem with it before. @BambuLab need to resolve this problem. This is big Bugs. I have my hotend pins broken becouse of it. After I recently updated the Bamboo firmware a couple of days ago, I’ve been experiencing a lot of problems with the new update on the A1. First of all, the filament gets stuck when it says it’s stuck in AMS Lite, but there’s nothing actually stuck. I had no issues with the previous firmware; it was just plug and play, and I could print 100 times without any problems. The new firmware seems to not communicate well with the model. The prints are not as good as before, etc. But the worst part is that the printer is only a month old, and the pins on the hotend have been damaged. There was clogging inside the hotend. I’ve cleaned everything, but now I notice that the pin that secures the 0.4 stainless steel hotend is missing. My equipment is being damaged because of the new firmware. I didn’t have any issues before the update. I have a brand new A1, and it makes me really sad.
I am having the same issue where it keeps saying the filament or AMS is stuck and when I look there is nothing wrong with the filament or AMS and I can just click resume and it continues to print just fine till about 5 minutes later and it will do it again. This continues till the print finishes.
Definitely something up with the new firmware. I will be rolling back to a previous version till they get it fixed. Supposedly you can roll back through the handy app.
Yes, its a big bug then. Nice to hear someelse have same issue. I have to send a ticket to support becouse i lost my pins in the hottend. I dont know have, all the problems starts after this last update . Thanks for the tip i will that now, its just in handy not in studio?
My printer randomly turns off, i need to touch the power button at the back and it starts again , but when i resume the print, it shifts the print with few mm
I updated and I have Y layer shift on some prints now.
I’m troubleshooting to see if rolling back the firmware will help. It’s very frustrating to “upgrade” then waste your most expensive filament on 2 failed prints in a row.
I just bought the A1 and got it all setup. Ran a couple of prints no problem. Updated to the most recent firmware and after a few prints I am getting an error about x-axis frequency. It says the timing belt could be loose. I have tried every fix possible on the internet and no luck, the error won’t go away. All of the sudden my prints aren’t coming out very good either, lots of pieces breaking free from print bed.
Someone else posted shortly after the 1.04.00 that they were having issues with nonstop purging, so it does seem like there may be some issues with it. It is for this reason I have held off updating until either the next update or some other explaination for that issue. You can revert to older firmware versions via the Bambu Handy app, at the bottom of the firmware update page.
I came looking to see if anybody else is having problems I did a firmware update 2 days ago and now for the last 2 days my printer is stopping and saying that it has filament stuck on the hot end which it does not and then it has the resume button I hit resume and it goes back to printing (tried different prints and filaments) but the other weird thing is it’s no longer notifying me via the bambu handy app so I don’t know that there’s anything wrong unless I go in and check on it I can still connect to the printer via the app, change the filament, check on things, but it doesn’t send me notifications even though I have all of them checked I even uninstalled the app and put the app back on and I still get the same problem. Prior to this last firmware update I had no complaint about the printer.
I know everyone is frustrated once things go bad only because you updated something…
Here’s the thing though:
Whenever the FIRMWARE of the printer is updated a FULL HARDWARE CALIBRATION IS DUE!
Bambu does not make this clear in their update notes…
The reason for this is rather obvious once you think about it:
The firmware is updated and with that come new default values and other changes.
Our calibration data though is stored in other parts of the magical memory hidden in the box somewhere.
After an update the printer then tries to use our old calibration values - often with unsupported changes elsewhere in the firmware.
Before you drive yourself into a deep rabbit hole just try the full calibration.
Yes, this half hour or so concert of vibrations and rattling around…
IF after this your printer or prints still misbehave you might have found a bug, otherwise you should at least confirm the problem is not just with old or downloaded 3MF files but also with fresh test prints like the Bambu cube.
I have printed quite a few models after the firmware upgrade, no problems at all so far. And yes I did the full calibration, which I think is the logical thing to do after an upgrade.
