You’ve seen this, right?
They’re setting expectations pretty high, at least compared to what you’re thinking. If it just barely clears the bar on improvement, it will be awfully disappointing.

lol. I’m among the first ones to have posted this screenshot on the forum (if you’ll bother to check it out), so, yeah, I’m fully aware of what they said. But in practical terms, between what they claim and what they’ll deliver there might be a (large) gap, as we all know and have experienced in the past. What they are “selling” through that post and what they will actually deliver might not be the same. It could be a mkt strategy to keep their users hooked and waiting, instead of purchasing from their competitors, and thus losing customers. Or it might be that what they “sell” is what they’ll deliver, in which case all those users who couldn’t (or wouldn’t) wait for their Q1 launch, would be pissed off and will either dig even deeper into their pockets to buy their new printer, or will stay put (the purchase money being already gone), and wait for their next iteration, or for their competitors to catch up at a lower price. Time will tell.
That doesn’t say anything at all, just marketeer talk
Well, then, I guess you may as well buy the K2 Plus. At least you’ll have it sooner.
i might lol, i would prefer to stay in my current setup ecosystem, but will definitely not wait for ever, i’m a fan, not a fanboy
In my case, not rushing to buy anything yet, despite the current temptations. As stated before in a number of my previous posts, I’m not pressed by either time or clients to buy. If I’ll decide to buy a new machine it will be on my terms and on my volition, when all the necessary due diligence will be completed, most regular users reviews are positive, and the manufacturers have had the time to solve the technical and software issues raised by the early bird users. I have the time on my side (for now). Not having a Damocle’s sword above my head pressuring me to buy before the new trade war begins between the US and China, which definitely will have a clear impact on any or most of consumer goods imported from China. And considering the political and economical interests at play here, a potential lobby/power play in that direction, from Stratasys Group and the rest of other US-based imports impacted businesses, cannot be excluded or ignored. So, I guess that many US based users/prosumers will not want to wait and have to pay more, so they’re more likely to buy now, promotions and Black Friday’s and all.
Flashforge is also joining the multicolor game, it seems.
The Flashforge AD5X comes with a compact “ams” unit and i like the way the spools are on the side. This is getting interesting
Not that much different from what Prusa XLhas already provided, except, perhaps, that Flashforge has put all 4 of them on one side instead of both.
Later edit:
Notably, the Flashforge solution leaves filament spools in the open air.
The AD5X will feature a modular and “compact” design with a 220 x 220 x 220 cm build volume, and will be able to hit claimed top speeds of 600 mm/s at 20,000 mm/s2 acceleration.
There will also be a host of “automatic” features, including leveling, filament loading and unloading, refill, and detection. Users will control the printer via a 4.3-inch touchscreen.

The main difference is the price, when compared to the prusa xl
But i get the point. The main thing is the price, since flashforge machines are pretty well priced and now they will have an ams system too. The only downside is really the build volume size but for many people will be a no brainer.
True. Price will always be a determining factor when acquiring a new printer. However, the price difference doesn’t come from how the spool rolls are placed but rather from the number of toolheads and mechanics/electronics required to make it work.
Besides the print volume, i could thing of a number of other issues with this printer, but I get your point and agree (in general terms).
Remains to be seen when will be launched, the price range, and what exactly it is delivered with.
Theyll have to beat the a1 price. Besides that, it does offer a larger build surface than a mini while having a smaller overall footprint while using an ams. Thats about all the wiggle room id give them though. Tough competition. Gotta either have the best price or next level tech.
Speaking of, just ordered a beacon for the voron
To be honest, i am very displeased of my A1 after seeing the print results on a Mini. They are good, don’t take me wrong, but i feel there’s something different in relation to quality when comparing the A1 to the lower and above model.
This is was compared with both machines by default, nothing touched. Maybe it’s only me that sees that, i don’t know
I think this is where I have to quote myself, on expectations vs reality
I was just thinking, it would be cool if we had side and front panels with built in closable vents along the top. So we could keep the lid on. Like this but built in to the panels
Here we go. k2 plus is covered first and he mostly covers negative stuff.
People have already done that, cuz Bambu (in its extraordinary creativity wisdom- or rather lack of it) hasn’t bothered considering adopting many of the users’ ingenious and highly creative ideas, and transpose them into its printers, or simply developing and commercializing those ideas into add-on mods easy to incorporate into the existing printers. Both on makerworld.com and printables.com (but also on other similar websites) ingenious and imaginative makers have come up with multiple solutions to many everyday problems, many of which would have required just a few simple tweaks to adapt for each printer type and sell as add-on packs. Sadly, it seems that the “light-bulb-heads” at Bambu, have other thoughts and other plans than to, wisely, lend a ear or two to listen to their customers. To bad, cuz if the new and very famed flagship printer turns out less than users expect, Bambu will be losing more customers than it has managed to secure in the past 2 years.
do you have a link to the side panels? I would love to not need a riser but still have vents.
I’ll start with the one I like the most and continue with what else is available on Printables. I’ll get back to you with whatever i find on Makerworld.
Makerworld now (in no specific or particular order of preference)
Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant vents built into the side and front panels of the printer itself. So that a riser isnt needed.
nope. nothing available from what I’ve seen until now.
Later edit
Actually, I remember seeing an enclosure model made for P1 series, that could be adapted to have air-vents included and printed as such. Don’t recall exactly where I’ve seen it, but once I’ll locate it I will PM you the link.
