Very similar to the street price for the base model Infimech TX or the sale price on a Flashforge. I hope it has more selling points than just the spool holder on the right instead of the rear.
Build plate size is cited to be identical to the X1 range.
42sth48-2804AH-s55is what I need. Ended up finding 2 from west3d and then I got 2 42sth48-2804ah-s80 from fabreeko. Im running 42sth60-2004ac for the z motors. Extra long with a ton of holding torque.
WHY do companies need their own magic fork? just⦠add well tested profile to orca and be done with it
Yeah, well, if they did that it wouldnāt be proprietary ⦠look at Bambu⦠and you have your answer.
Well thatās not a good example for proprietary slicer.
Bambu printers are working on Orca and Orca is a fork of BambuStudio. And BambuStudio is open source since itās based on prusa slicer and derivatives
If they made a fork of Orca proprietary theyād be violating OpenSource licence
I still think for ones like elegoo, the best approach would be to instead focus on providing 1st-party well tested profiles for Orca instead of wasting dev resources on yet-another-pointless-fork.
What magic can there be inside elegooās orca that wouldnāt make more sense to apply in orca itself?
Ah, sweet. I have some LDO-42STH48-2504AC I could have sent you. I think they arenāt as good as the ones you ended up with though.
I posted the same thing on their Discord, but what do I know. What theyāve been doing is taking whatever version of Cura is recent when they put out a new printer, slapping their name on it and then NEVER updating it. So new people install in from a thumb drive that comes with the printer and think itās some special slicer they have to use. Why fork Orca when there is a whole team (and community) constantly working on Orca to keep it updated. Just make good profiles for goodness sake and let them handle it. Elegoo really does treat itās customers well but they do make you scratch your head sometimes.
Creality could have done same instead of forking it for Print 6. Donāt get why they needed to spend more money (dev time) for worse experience
How about Orangestorm Giga?
I feel like I can hear the designers at that meeting, āPeople love the Neptune Max, weāve got to go BIGGER!ā. lol
Yeah, it would. But, and I quote myself here, itās that much about Orca fork, that about firm-/software ā¦
A bigger printer would be fantastic, Iād be in regardless of price⦠My only wish for it is it match the color scheme of the X1C. Why are all the printers different colors? The mismatched AMS and X1C is such an eye sore.
It would be cool if they made the AMS shell interchangeable, and had a the current one and a light grey one to match the X1C
Honestly a fantastic idea! Iād definitely be in for a few. The X1C was their flagship printer for awhile, since this new model is taking the Top Spot Iām hoping this new model will follow the same design ques. Honestly, a small thing to hope for in the grand scheme of thing but it would really sell the premium Bambu Line.
It probably will be the same or similar, there have been 2 leaks with images of the H2D, which show it having a exterior color being similar to X1C. In my opinion it looks more like the matte grey on the A1, but itās also not a great picture. These leaks are most likely true because afterwards Bambu trademarked the terms H2D and AMS 2 Pro
So far ive only ran a couple presliced files but, WOW. So far this thing is amazing. Best build quality of any printer ive owned. The outter shell is stupidly over engineered. Could probably stop a bullet lol. Reminds me of what you would get if an x1c had a baby with a plus 4 and then only fed that baby steak, corn and potatoes. Looks like they watched this forum and fixed everything people wanted to see on the x1c. While mirroring everything people like. Theres more a.i. ā ā ā ā /self calibrations. You can print pla with the top on and door closed.
Iāll have a much more detailed review in the next couple days. I want to try more materials as well as some long difficult prints. But so far, best of the best. Maybe I got lucky and won the 3d lottery but if this holds up, we have the swiss army knife of current printers.
The software side is extremely similar to bambu now, with a few additions like your own dedicated cloud space. Like a onedrive for .stlās
Something I wasnt expecting is how open it is. With the huge front door(that seals all the way around) and tight layout. Not sure how to explain it but it makes for a pretty good looking printer with great part visibility.
The carbon filters are trash and the fan for the chamber heater is kinda weak. When you first start, it has you run calibrations, followed by firmware update, followed by the same calibrations. Waste of 15 minutes. Bed leveling takes a while (Iāll time it later), because the bed is so big and it doesnt seem to use adaptive bed mesh yet. The bed falls when you turn the printer off, but it also moves back into position really fast when you start a print. It will require 2 people to move. Its not overly large but its a tank. The outer shell feels like thick cast aluminum
As far as speedā¦Damn. It prints faster than the x1c and the travel speed is stupid fast. It caught me off guard when it did the first bed leveling. You almost dont see it move. Now I see why they added dual aux fans and dual exhaust fans.
The cfs auto feeds in the filament so you can load with one hand. Its not any louder than an ams while loading but the normal operation during prknting is slightly louder. The actual printing is very low noise level. similar to an x1c even though much larger.
Please share any specific prints you would like to see. Iāll run the poly pearl test when I get up.
14min benchy
PA calibration
Flow calibration
LOL.
I was kinda of considering the possibility of acquiring one after a (safety) wait period. By this I mean waiting for more unbiased real users reviews of the K2 Plus Combo (no YouTube influencers, paid advertising or gifted printers for good reviews). Now, with the changes brought by its latest firmware move Bambu just made things easier for me to take a decision as to which direction should I go. I was waiting first for their H2D release - but now, following the changes imposed on its users with the new s.h.i.t.t.y firmware, Bambu is no longer an option. I had to decide between Core One, K2 Plus and⦠H2D⦠Bambu just took care of removing the last one from my list. All I have now to do is choose between Core One and K2 Plusā¦With your review, I might make up my mind earlier than estimated.
nice well if you can run a few prints where the printer needs to handle a lot of retractions iād appreciate it, iām all about complex patterns so curious to see if it can handle it with quality at speed. would also like to see how it handles overhangs
