I’ve had my P1S for around 2 months now, and ever since I’ve been using the included double sided Textured PEI plate. Since about day 3 of using it, I’ve noticed that the tab at the back used to clean the nozzle has been degrading significantly on both sides and has never seemed to be cleaning the nozzle effectively. I’ve only ever cleaned it with a damp microfiber cloth and haven’t really used any harsh solvents to clean anything within the printer. I also never print at anything more than 5 degrees celcius above the recommended temperatures for the generic PLA and PETG settings.
This wear area is 100% normal.

I figured it probably is to some extent, but I hadn’t seen anyone really mention it.
It’s brought up time to time.
I think, the intent is not to clean the entire nozzle but to make sure, that there is no material below the nozzle, so that probing measures the correct height of the bed. it is ok to have material on the sides of the nozzle.
This is where the nozzle rubs against the bed to ensure there’s no molten filament on the nozzle before bed leveling.
It’s floating off the end of the bed so the nozzle isn’t under any stress when rubbing.
