The wait ends on March 25! 🚀

The link that you recently posted as a wiki ? i asked if it would/could be incorporated with studio ? farmers, they are the users i see as being the biggest beneficiary of a dual extruder toolhead

Agreed, especially with printing two models at the same time. Actually just thought of an issue. How would the AMS print with both at the same time and how would it figure out which PTFE tube to feed the filament into? Just a thought…

2 x Core XY kinematics - with one inside the other. So 4 motors instead of 2.

Just a heads up to those waiting to pull the trigger - if these ship from China there could be a surprise when they hit US customs.

If they ship from US warehouses for US buyers, customs fees are already paid. If they come from China, current tariff is 20% so you’ll get asked for tax id number (your social generally) and to pony up 20% of the price you paid plus any fees.

Some freight companies will pay for you and then bill you but generally you pay before they hand you the box.

With the current volatility with trade wars and daily threats, and some tariffs being discussed for some goods from some countries at 200% levels, it’s entirely possible you could get hit for tariff bills that are over twice the price of the printer. I would imagine if you don’t pay the package is either returned but could also end up at government auction.

And it may not even apply. Just depends on his mood and what tariffs get yelled about when and on what. But folks need to know the tariff issue could possibly affect them.

I have 3 (x1e) printers, and since the announcement of tariffs: MATTERHACKERS and several other companies have raised the price of the X1e’s by $400! I called and commented that those printers are already in the U.S. so the price should have only gone up with the new imports. I suspect retailers are using that to jack up the prices on stock already in the U.S. which is unfortunate. I did find it for $200 more on Swing Design which was better than $400 but still upsetting. I imagine the new tariffs will definitely impact the cost of the H2D.

Unfortunately for you guys Trump is working on a way to tariff shipments between two 3rd party countries.

@SupportAssistant Look at the buzz you’ve generated!

It would be cool if;

  1. The dual extruder can be installed on P1/X1 as an upgrade.
  2. The AMS 2.0 dryer is backward compatible AMS 1.0.

this could be a Cartographer probe (contact less bed leveling) for faster bed leveling, something similar to BTT Eddy or Beacon, if so i hope it is much better than Eddy, because similar probes has issues with heat they tend to have different values with variable heat, accurate yes, and i have past experience with eddy which hate love relationship, but i doubt bambu will have issues with it quality control is a beast

I can’t stop thinking about the rumoured pancake maker

Like, will I need a special non stick plate or can I use my regular smooth plate and just swap out the glue stick for a stick of butter?

I already use butter on my build plates as a release agent, so I’m ready.

It’s a Snap Maker competitor pretty much.

I do not own Snap Maker, haver never used one but you can tell it is. Which is great, more competition to push innovation and pricing.

Dual Extruders - 1 Support Material + 1 Filament / Dual Color for reduced downtime during color swaps / Hybrid material printing
Hopefully sold as a printer only, combos available as required to cut down on cost.
AMS - How to load to both extruders at the same time with 1 unit and how does the swapping work, if you have 2 PTFE tubes leaving the AMS into the print head. Seems like Slot 1+2 will be Head 1 and Slot 3+4 will be Head 2 so you have to plan ahead for color changing, unless there is a way to cross paths of filament into the heads which would overcomplicate the AMS.

Laser - Sold separately and not forced to buy the printer as a combo unless selected. 20-30W laser.

Price - $1,899 - $2,399 with attachments.

This is just for fun.
I have no idea and don’t really care if I am wrong, I am excited to see what comes of the printer and what Bambu brings to the table.

Tom’s hardware says they’ll compare it to the X1C, not the X1E. Wonder if that’s just because it’s what they have or if this isn’t going to be X1E pricing after all
