What's still missing on the X1C?

I saw a topic today Replace the door to another side, the request was very modest. I think the list can be expanded massively. So just a quick overview.

  1. Door reversible (from the topic: Replace the door to another side.)
  2. Detachable front door (from the topic: Replace the door to another side.)
  3. Alternative plastic door without risk of breakage.
  4. Door opening angle of 180°
  5. Filament holder possible to mount on all sides (However, I recommend a filament holder for 20 euros - it’s just something I always hear).
  6. Quickly removable side panel (maintenance).
  7. Decent z lift spindle easy to clean. Not the cheapest you can find on the market.
  8. Easy to reach rear Z spindle.
  9. Printhead changes at least as fast as a on a Creality S1.
  10. Built in Small tool drawer like on a Creality S1.
  11. Complete print head as a spare part.
  12. Sufficient distance from the print head to the top glass plate.
  13. Alternative top glass plate made of plastic.
  14. Top attachment with ventilation option on the printer top - do I really have to print this myself?
  15. Quick nozzles change (but just because it’s often mentioned). I usually want to change an entire print head at this speed. Since the S1, I prefer to change the printhead rather than the nozzle.
  16. Better alignment holder for inserting the printing plate.
  17. AMS more flexible on filament spool sizes.
  18. Idex 3D Printer.
  19. Printer size of 250x 400mm (height 250mm).
  20. Massively easier access for maintenance and part replacement.
  21. Quieter

Update 09.09.2024

  1. Not missing on the X1C, but on all other printers: spaghetti detection

Update 11.09.2024

  1. Ethernet port

What else?

While you may not want to print them, there are literally solutions for almost all things mentioned. Go to BigTreeTech for your plastic door.

A lot of these, if they were included, would add to manufacturing costs and an increase in cost to the consumer.

I don’t get the whole “nozzle change” thing. It’s doesn’t take that long and it’s not difficult in any stretch of the imagination. Get a Revo or that thing Slice has coming if it’s that bad. People act like changing a nozzle takes as long as changing a tire or oil.

Okay, maybe I’m a bit old-fashioned. But from 700 USD + someone will delivers the whole package or they will keep the printer - of course all the print profiles have to be included, but the X1C has them.

See the topic a bit as motivation for 3D printer manufacturers who not only want to catch up, but also want to overtake.

So what elese is missing?

Not while I still have other work - it might take another 10 years until someone comes along, but they’ll come… and they’ll take off like Bambulab  The interim solution is very simple: Print with the X1C and the 5M as it is…

So I guess most people are of the opinion that they think we should do that

How did the song lyrics go: Money for nothing and the chickens for free
