You need to check out ETSY regularly

I just gave them the links on maker world, they took those listing down within 24 hours without any question

Throught the ipmanager portal. Registered my model there and filled the report. In less than 2 hours they responded me, the first time, asking for more proof. I sent it and the same day everything was gone and i got an answer from them confirming it.

It was the smoothest experience i had until now.
I am still having problems with some russian websites that don’t want to comply and also some in Spain and Turkey. Those there are no way of removing anything from there.

I wish they all were as easy as Etsy, to be honest.

So not this email? Or you just uploaded the proof and ignored the ID stuff? I’ll have a go at it again…

I don’t remember they asking me for the ID. I sent them my name, yes, as it should. And also all the proof i could gather and that was it.

Try and ignore the ID stuff and see what they tell you.

What sucks with Etsy is it seems they don’t do anything to moderate, why would they as long as they are making sales. I still have to use Etsy occasionally, but being a place for creative people to sell things and then rewarding anyone who would steal their stuff is just a joke.

there’s no way Etsy can tell who’s the designer and who steal others design anyway , we see people steal others work and repost it on maker world all the time ( yeah they got took down after report )

As a consumer, it’s so hard to know when you are buying things on Etsy if you are buying it from the actual designer or if you are buying it from someone who stole the design. Any tips to get ideas if it’s the designer or not?

I think there are trademark rights on things like Minecraft that can’t be sold so easily anyway, even if you create the models yourself. Report it to the rights holders and the products should quickly disappear from etsy.

If the store doesn’t say on the page if it’s an original design or not, it can be a bit tough unless you’re willing to do some digging.

It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the original design. Now imagine creating a Green Lantern that is recognisable as such, even if it differs slightly from the original. If I then market it commercially, I can get myself some good lawyers.

I have reported that publication in etsy. If I see any other design from someone in the community, I will report it as well.

How are you reporting though?

I found it the hard way that Etsy will not take it down unless you select the correct IP category and provided all the information they require.

Everyone - check the thread below if you’re curious how Etsy rejected my claim thrice, until I got it correctly filed.

most of the time it got taken down within 24 hours , but I found it annoying since theres no punishment of those thief, they will just keep it going on and on

I reported the item and chose the option that said something like ‘violates a rule.’ I just copied and pasted the rule that says you can’t sell items with intellectual property

Ok. Appreciate if you can report back when you get the Etsy response.

Here is one for the wall of shame:

He stole one model from me and I recognized multiple models from other creators.

we should just group up and sue Etsy

I have a question, I’m new to all this Esty and stl files. I bought a Batman digital file on Esty like 2 years ago, the seller is no where to be found. so I modify the files on bambu studio, can I upload it to bambu as non commercial so people can use it??? also the same file is on another website by another seller, that’s why I’m confuse. Lol

no, the designer still own his right for his models, depending on what license you bought (most likely only print it for your self), you shouldn’t share the file with anyone

and there might be good chance the “designer” you bought the file from was just one of those thief got taken down
