AI generated models flooding the website

I like “Bla bla characters” more since it shows each time how useless that 25 character condition is.

it looks exactly the same as the image, don’t understand what you’re on about

Someone make the real one please, and put that fox out of its misery :joy:

As always, strolling around the contests to see what’s going on or something nice to print and… We have a new competitor joining the race

Yes, i cross checked some of the models and although they seem “ok’ish”, models have no printed pictures at all. Contests are the best place to find these kind of users

Another one to the (big) list that i am posting in my groups, and other social groups, so that they don’t support this kind of behaviour :ok_hand:

The first rule of short club is “we don’t talk about short club”.

Ahh, another use who has stolen prints then photoshops a different background on them.

I thought the first rule of short club is to always have a stool because we can’t reach the top.

That’s the second rule, we printed yours.

The first rule is never ask a stranger if they’re in “short club”…

Well, I thought it’d be a given; it’s clear to see after all, right over their head…

Hey, I know that one! I’ve made a profile for the “woman vase” model because it didn’t had any and my model selector wanted one…

I recognise that background, I think it’s from one of those product photography apps where you give it a picture and the AI handles the rest

AI is a great tool. The misuse of it is the problem. Once the generative modeling feature in some of the CAD becomes good enough in the near future, we should all be using it. Not to use it to churn out large amount of low quality models, but to use it as a helper to build great models easier and faster.

For now though, MW needs to take actions to stop the flooding of low quality AI generated models and/or cover images. MW is for quality models that can be printed on FDM printers, not for showcasing 3D arts generated by AI. Having these kind of models on the platform is bad for MW, particularly if some of these models with flawless images get on the trending page. Users will feel deceived.

This is what I want more of.

Cool, but that has been done lots of times and without those fancy “neural rendering” words. It could even be made with the old Samsung Note 10+ that has a depth sensor and allows for capturing people/objects and save them as editable models. And that is considered now an old phone. Imagine what new phone sensors can do now

Don’t get me wrong, it’s cool, but it’s only the printed and assembled model on top of a black cloth being photographed/filmed from every angle and then software stitches all together, creating an object that can be visualized, worked on and even printed.

Here’s one of my thieves

Dang, sell a few at those prices and you’re rich :joy:

You should get Makerworld’s attention. Also, whoever buys that is really getting ripped off.

They didn’t even Print their own one to sell!
