My sensation is that one of the belts on one motor shift because the scary sound comes even if the head dont go to the end of path. I have already done many times the tension maintenance, and i remember that in 6 prints, 5 on ABS and 1 on PLA, only PLA ends fine, no i try another PLA print just for statistics.
It just something i was thinking about after using one for the first time it took moisture down to 43% from 63% in a matter of 30 minutes before settling into 1-2% incruments over 90 minutes ,
belts slipping due to heat ? change belt rather than maintenace ?, but i would suggest recreate the issue on a freshly formatted sdcard to upload the specifics of the log to customer support to pass onto an engineer as @Mattias_Svensson has already suggested
ok, monday iāll do that, but remember the problem comes without SD card inserted even, and other users experiencing the same problem.
I mean save the log file to a fresh sdcard and auto upload it through bambu handy it saves a lot of trawling if its specific to that one issue , its also another reason to get advice from the engineers here
This is only true on the P series of printers. The X series caches the print sent from the cloud locally. There is a checkbox in options to save the cached file to the SD but the printer will print without an SD card installed.
I was wondering if the issues are related to the fan changes made in the latest Bambu Studio update? The update happened about two weeks ago and that seems to match the timeline of these problems. I donāt know if downgrading Bambu Studio will be enough to revert the fan setting to the previous values, you would have to confirm if the values changed.
This person was having a similar issue with PETG that he determined was caused by the fan speed changes in the latest Bambu Studio update.
As mentioned above send a log file to support for them to decipher.
Might be a heat related issue that results in electronics or mechanical problems that cause significant step loss or other irregularities with the XY movement system.
Yes you are right X also has on board memory storage, I do forget that sometimes.
I submitted a ticket to Bambu citing this forum topic as well as the others complaining about the same issue. I suggested it might be related to their fan update.
can you help me through the process? iāve never done before
I have 1.9.1.67 on my macbook pro, i found all previews versions on git website, can help if i try with an older version like this of 4 april?
thanks! so if i understand:
- Format New SD card with the printer
- Send the print that cause the issue
- when the print fails i do the procedure for the log file
It looks that way , yes
I used the add more option in bambu handy support ticket which will auto upload a log file (A1)
but you can also use
Support - Bambu Lab (region)
which allows for a manual upload of the log file
Sign In - Bambu lab (region)
EDIT: The instructions below may not work (unless you make the change I suggest) because according to this post there is syncing of the profiles in the cloud. I was suspicious about this because it seemed like that might be the case based on my experience. If you go to Bambu Studio settings, you can uncheck āAutosync user presetsā and āUpdate built-in Presets automaticallyā
I donāt think the older version will change the fan values back to the old values
I asked ChatGPT how to downgrade to an older version and remove the old profiles. ChatGPT is not always correct, so the instructions below may or may not work. Maybe make a backup of the configurations in case you need to re-add them.
Yes, you can remove all the old profiles to reset Bambu Studio to its default settings when you install an older version. Hereās how you can do it:
- Uninstall Bambu Studio: Completely uninstall the current version of Bambu Studio from your system.
- Delete Configuration Files:
- On Windows, navigate to the following directory (you might need to enable viewing hidden files and folders):
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio
- On macOS, go to:
~/Library/Application Support/BambuStudio
- On Linux, check:
~/.config/BambuStudio
- Delete the
BambuStudio
folder to remove all configuration files, including profiles.
- Reinstall the Older Version:
- Download the older version of Bambu Studio from the official website or a trusted source.
- Install the older version as you normally would.
By deleting the configuration files, you ensure that Bambu Studio will recreate them with default settings and profiles when you run it after the installation. This way, you will start fresh with the default profiles provided by the older version of the software.
Just print a small test model. Donāt waste too much filament while the problem isnāt solved.
in my case issue comes after 20/25min (between 10/30 layers) of print, dont work on small objects
Monday, when I come back to the office Iāll try
Managed to get a successful print now, did 3 changes.
-
Cleaned the carbon rods, even though the machine only has a few hours on it the friction moving the head was not constant across the stroke. Felt better but not perfect. Felt most constant first 2/3 from the left.
-
Moved the print to the left side of the bed.
-
Used Bambu PAHT-CF profile without any changes. Although the modifications I had before was just number of bottom layers.
Only fail was the text on the vertical wall that it didnāt managed to do. And a couple of the holes for the magnets were not round.
Good to know what of this changes made the score, can you print again same at last just to ensure print are stable like this?
If the print goes fine can you print placing object in the old position?
